Straight from the oven, these were infeasibly brilliant. Lots of kneading, two hours of proving, skill and care. My wife really does cook amazing things.
Hot spring at Hveravellir, a geothermal area in the Icelandic Highlands. The very short eruptions occur at irregular intervals, so it was quite a challenge to capture the boiling water in the right moment.

A hot September morning finds Georgia Northeastern Railroad's Tate to Marietta southbound crossing the Little River just outside of Woodstock, GA. GP20 #4125 leads a pair of GP38's & GP18 across the bridge with 29 cars bound for the CSX interchange at Elizabeth.
Albuquerque has the optimal weather conditions for hot air ballooning, which include wind conditions and air temperature. Both of these factors contribute to successful hot air ballooning and Albuquerque has the perfect mix.

Starting my own hot cocoa sampler pack (of pics). Inspired by Vicki's invitation to try The Thematorium's latest challenge, I tried to revisit a recent pic. I used a quality lens, but I didn't like the bokeh effect. I'll have to try again, but with a better bokeh lens.
About this: the marshmallow are homemade. But more about that later.

Les Mammoth Hot Springs sont un édifice minéral calcaire naturel de type tufière se trouvant dans le parc national de Yellowstone aux États-Unis dans le Wyoming.
Une tufière ou tuffière est un site formé par une roche appelée tuf calcaire. C'est en fait une source qui occasionne ces concrétions calcaires, ce qui lui donne un aspect insolite. Ces concrétions sont parfois en forme d'escaliers géants, occasionnant une succession de cascades plus ou moins hautes. Elles peuvent aussi prendre des formes les plus diverses.
La source à l'origine de ce phénomène est appelée source pétrifiante ou fontaine pétrifiante.
