At the main entrance to the fairground, a volume non-volume outside and inside which the environment penetrates and settles, a modular, expandable, or sealable space that follows the progress of the day, adjusting to seasons and expanding its configuration and usage options. A shapable module which can be fitted with endless variations, from a bathing establishment to a reception, from a gym to a wellness centre, from an info-point to a hospitality facility and a guest room in a natural resort, with private SPA and gym. MS Ireland played host to the Friends of the MS Care Centre Luncheon on Friday 27th May and it was a day to remember for all in attendance. Almost 200 of Ireland’s finest businesspeople dined on a sumptuous three course lunch in the extravagant surroundings in the Four Seasons Hotel.
Anne Winslow, Chief Executive of MS Ireland, thanked everyone for becoming a friend of the MS Care Centre and spoke passionately about the importance of the Centre for people with multiple sclerosis across Ireland. Allen O’Connor, Chairperson of MS Ireland, spoke about how MS doesn’t always have to limit your activities or stop you from doing the things you liked to do before you were diagnosed and talked fondly of his travel experiences.
There was complete stillness when Mark Mitchell spoke from the heart about what the MS Care Centre means to him. His time at the Centre means his wife gets to have a well deserved break and joked that taking care of him is no easy feat! The humour and good nature of his words did not overshadow the significance of the Centre and the message that ‘Your friendship is hope’ reached the entire audience.
Neil O’Brien lifted the spirits of the guests with his witty account of the origins of his motivational speaking career. His inspirational words certainly rang true with our hopes and expectations of the luncheon and in turn, the Friends of the Care Centre campaign. We are grateful that he could share them with our guests on this day: “In life, you get what you expect… not what you want.”
With Michael Kelly from PJ O’Dywer Auctioneers at the helm, the auction was a great success with guests bidding on signed and framed Munster and Leinster rugby jerseys and a Millennium Bottle of 27 year old Jameson. The final lot was the original piece by internationally renowned photographer, Tom Lawlor, which was specially commissioned for MS Ireland. The raffle was a lively way to end the day and all of the wonderful prizes, donated to MS Ireland, were well received by their new owners.

1st MSC hosts mobilization readiness exercise
Camp Santiago, Salinas: Soldiers of the 1st Mission Support Command's Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment hosted a mobilization readiness exercise at Camp Santiago, P.R., 14-27 March.
During the event, HHD Soldiers completed readiness checks for over 1,000 Soldiers. Events such as this are commonly held annually to ensure that commanders can maintain their unit readiness.
"We try to do this as the units get closer to their available year in order to have them improve their overall readiness and mobilization posture in the event they get selected (for mobilization) down the road", said Gerardo Rodriguez, mobilization officer for the 1st MSC.
Rodriguez said MRXs help units maintain readiness for deployments but they also serve the individual Soldier.
"As part of the MRX ... there are different stations and one of them, one of the most important, is medical. A Soldier is completely checked and whatever cannot be fixed at this location ... the Soldier can go to a private (medical) provider and get that situation fixed and that helps them with their overall readiness",he said.
Soldiers rotate through eleven different stations in total where they are checked in by HHD Soldiers and efficiently move through the station. While the process has been refined over the years at times people still tend to get impatient.
Staff Sgt. Anaselly Ramos, logistics noncommissioned officer with the mobilization team, know the experience can be stressful but to help keep the level of frustration down she leads groups of Soldiers through stations when she sees openings. While each group of Soldiers is instructed to follow the schedule given to them for the MRX, Ramos' method keeps things moving along too.
Keeping track of the entire flow of Soldier traffic is a system called the mobilization plan data viewer.
"It shows all the stations and actually it runs the SRP (MRX) completely", said Spc. Hector Rodriguez, from Bayamon.
"It's tracking each Soldier by station ... you can see how many have completed (the stations) and how many have not",added Rodriguez, who is assigned to the 311th Quartermaster Company.
While the process can be tedious for the Soldiers going from station to station, one Soldier working at the medical readiness station found the MRX to be an opportunity to challenge herself by practicing her public speaking skills.
Spc. Jenniffer Gonzalez Diaz, a traffic management coordinator, who's primary language is Spanish, began giving the medical station briefings to many groups of Soldiers. Gonzalez admits that speaking English is not one of her strengths but her determination brought her recognition among her peers and even the Commanding General of the 1st MSC Brig. Gen. Fernando Fernandez.
"They gave me the opportunity to participate in this activity so I can ... help them in the system with the Soldiers, and I practiced a lot my English",said Gonzalez.
As a member of the the 390th Seaport Company, in Ceiba, Gonzalez recognizes the importance of refining her English language skills. When given the opportunity to refine her abilities when she signed up for the Army, Gonzalez participated in English language courses.
"I improved my English, I practiced my English when I took the class but I knew a little bit of the language because we are Puerto Rico and we are bilingual so we took classes when we started in (grade) school", said Gonzalez.
Gonzalez knows this isn't the only challenge she'll have to overcome in her military career, which is why she stays motivated and maintains a positive attitude.
"The important thing for me is to show people that you are trying, don't get upset, don't get mad if someone corrects you because they are helping you",she said. "If you don't know, ask, so you can learn ... the stuff you learn nobody can take away."

This is a photograph from the second annual hosting of the Coralstown National School 5KM Road Race and Fun Run was held at Coralstown, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 30th April 2013 at 19:30. This proceeds of the race were in aid of support for Coralstown National School. The race started and finished outside of Coralstown Church (beside the school - see Google StreetMap goo.gl/maps/oWGeu). The National School provided the facilities for changing rooms, toilets, registration, and parking. The race was organised by local athlete and Mullingar Harriers clubman Mattie Glennon. Mattie and a huge team of helpers and volunteers organised a wonderful evening's racing. The course was on small country roads and tarmac canal bank. Coralstown is located just off the M4 motorway between junctions 12 Kinnegad and 13 The Downs. It is approximately 7 miles east of Mullingar.
Well done to everyone involved. This was a great evening with a real sense of community spirit at the race. Spot prizes and refreshments were offered afterwards in the National School.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: Approximately 400 people took part
Weather: This was a very rainy evening with a heavy shower of rain before the race before clearing to drier conditions.
Course: Accurately measured course on rural roads and tarmac canal bank roadway. Course was marked in KMs and Miles.
Refreshments: There was bottled water available at the finish and then hot and cold refreshments served in the school.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. December 23, 2013- Hajvery University (HU) hosted a lecture on The Role of Youth in Nation's Development by Honorable Mr. Asad Umar, Member National Assembly, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. HU as part of its Great Minds Visit HU! Series invites accomplished individuals from all walks of life to share their success stories with the students and inspire them to follow their dreams at a time when the youth of Pakistan have too many reasons to be demoralised and not enough to become agents of change.
Mr. Asad Umar, MNA and Senior Member of PTI, gave an energized talk to the HU Students on the positive mindset required by today's youth to overcome the numerous challenges that Pakistan faces. He encouraged students to focus on the Entrepreneurial Mindset and use the skills learned at the University to start their own businesses. He further added that the Students must become agents of change in their individual capacities if they want to see Pakistan as a prosperous nation in the future. He stressed that Education is the driving force of a Knowledge based Economy and the students sitting here today in the HU Auditorium are as bright and intelligent as any other student in the world.
“I’ve had the good fortune of travelling the world and being associated with some of the best Organisations & Universities world over and I can reassure you that the students sitting here today in the Hajvery University’s Auditorium are as bright and intelligent as any other student in the world!
Mr. Asad Umar also took oath from 30 male and female students who formed the new Executive Counsel of the HU Student Societies, an initiative by the University to give students a platform to hone their unique talents various fields. The 5 Student Societies are mentioned below. Each consists of a President and 5 Vice Presidents.

Dr. Muhammad Khalid Pervaiz, Rector HU, expressed that students are keen to play an active role in Nation’s Development and such events allow them to take inspirations.
Mr. Fahd Sheikh, Director, HU while speaking on the occasion expressed that encouraging these students to play a positive role in nation building is pivotal to the success of the country. The University is taking initiatives such as Great Minds Visit HU! Series to continually invite such people who can have a positive impact of these students mindsets. He also expressed gratitude on behalf of the University to Mr. Asad Umar and his team members who very kindly graced the occasion and had an engaging session with the students. We're hosting a challenge mini tournament where teams across Europe get to take on Brawling!
It's a mini knockout tournament vs Brawling with a twist. Six teams will compete against Brawling for short mini rounds, each round the bottom half of the teams will be cut.
But here is the twist!
The audience can rig the system for or against teams by donation! Come and support your team by keeping them out of the box, or sabotage another team by clearing Brawling's box.
£5 to announce a jam
£5 to do a clockwise jam
£5 to clear the penalty box for a team for the next jam
£5 to put two blockers in the penalty box at the jam start
£10 to put a jammer in the box at the jam start
£10 to have a specific player jam the next jam
£10 to add a bonus blocker on track at the jam start
£20 to have someone wear a Tutu for a jam
There'll be raffles and awesome prizes to be won so make sure you come for a fun night of mini bouts, LRG beer, and general merrymaking!

Hundreds of visitors came to get inspired and play with us at our Climate Art Exhibit on Sep. 14-15 at the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival. Green Change and dozens of volunteers hosted this special exhibit to engage more people to go green and fight climate change. We collaborated with these talented artists to create this featured presentation: Ann Dodge, Tess Felix, Fabrice Florin, Janey Fritsche, Al Grumet, Aurora Mahassine and Randy Rosenberg.
Together, we transformed the redwood grove at Old Mill Park into a creative space for climate action. We inspired hundreds of conversations about climate change through vibrant artworks, visual storytelling, interactive installations and fun activities for all ages. Over a hundred people signed up as Green Change members, dozens pledged to take climate action and many more played our educational games and learned new information to help them go green.
Our climate art exhibit featured:
• Ocean Plastic Portraits - stunning portraits made from recycled materials found on beaches
• Seeds of Change - a multi-dimensional living art installation rising 20 feet up in the redwood trees
• Keeping Score - a fun corn hole game about our food choices
• Hitting Home - an origami house activity about our energy choices
• Alchemy of Fire - mixed-media paintings about the threat of wildfires
• This Island Earth - paintings celebrating the beauty and spiritual power of nature
• Earth Bike - a unique art float created to inspire people to go green
• Green Change - an information table for learning about climate action
This was a fun and rewarding experience for all participants, bringing together hundreds of people and inspiring them to make a green change in their lives. The majestic redwood grove at Old Mill offered an ideal setting for helping each other protect nature and our future.
Special thanks to our gracious hosts Erma Murphy and Sylvia Barsky at MVFAF -- and to all the volunteers who so generously helped us present our work for this transformative experience!
