Mr and Mrs Yoshi were our hosts in Karuizawa 軽井沢, a quiet suburb about 1hour train ride from Tokyo. We stayed at their home which the Yoshi have converted their 2 storey house into a little guesthouse which have 8 or 9 guest rooms and a shared living room. Yoshi's English is very good and if you happen to find yourself in Karuizawa, book yourself a room at Hotel Ease.

"Nottingham is a city and unitary authority area in Nottinghamshire, England. Part of the East Midlands region, it is 128 miles (206 km) north of London and 45 miles (72 km) northeast of Birmingham. To the west lies Derby, separated by the M1 motorway.
Nottingham has links to the legend of Robin Hood and to the lace-making, bicycle (notably Raleigh bikes) and tobacco industries. It was granted its city charter in 1897, as part of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Nottingham is a tourist destination; in 2018, the city received the second highest amount of overnight visitors in the Midlands and the highest amount in the East Midlands.
In 2017, Nottingham had an estimated population of 329,200. The population of the city proper, compared to its regional counterparts, has been attributed to its historical and tightly-drawn city boundaries. The wider conurbation, which includes many of the city's suburbs, has a population of 768,638. It is the largest urban area in the East Midlands and the second-largest in the Midlands. Its Functional Urban Area, also the largest in the East Midlands, has a population of 919,484. The population of the Nottingham/Derby metropolitan area is estimated to be 1,610,000.
Its metropolitan economy is the seventh largest in the United Kingdom with a GDP of $50.9bn (2014). The city was the first in the East Midlands to be ranked as a sufficiency-level world city by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network.
Nottingham's public transport system won awards prior to 2015, including the largest publicly owned bus network in England, and is also served by Nottingham railway station and the modern Nottingham Express Transit tram system.
It is also a major sporting centre and, in October 2015, was named 'Home of English Sport'. The National Ice Centre, Holme Pierrepont National Watersports Centre and Trent Bridge international cricket ground are all based in or around the city, which is also the home of two professional football teams; the former world's oldest professional league club Notts County and Nottingham Forest, famously two-time winners of the UEFA European Cup under Brian Clough and Peter Taylor in 1979 and 1980. The city also has professional rugby, ice hockey and cricket teams, and the Aegon Nottingham Open, an international tennis tournament on the ATP and WTA tours. This accolade came just over a year after Nottingham was named as the UK's first City of Football.
On 11 December 2015, Nottingham was named a "City of Literature" by UNESCO, joining Dublin, Edinburgh, Melbourne and Prague as one of only a handful in the world. The title reflects Nottingham's literary heritage, with Lord Byron, D. H. Lawrence and Alan Sillitoe having links to the city, as well as a contemporary literary community, a publishing industry and a poetry scene.

Summer 2019 I did a solo cycling tour across Europe through 12 countries over the course of 3 months. I began my adventure in Edinburgh, Scotland and finished in Florence, Italy cycling 8,816 km. During my trip I took 47,000 photos.

Chiclana de la Frontera es una ciudad española de la provincia de Cádiz, en la comunidad autónoma de Andalucía. Pertenece a la Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Bahía de Cádiz, junto a Cádiz capital de la que dista 24 kilómetros. La fundación de la actual Chiclana se produjo en el año 1303, cuando el rey Fernando IV de Castilla entregó las tierras chiclaneras a la Casa de Medina-Sidonia. El actual casco urbano se levanta durante el siglo XVIII. En la Guerra de la Independencia Española se produjo la Batalla de Chiclana entre franceses y aliados anglo-españoles. Hoy en día la economía chiclanera depende de una industria moderna y del turismo, especialmente de las playas y de los campos de golf asentados fundamentalmente en el Novo Sancti Petri, urbanización que cuenta con el mayor número de plazas hoteleras en la provincia de Cádiz y en toda la Costa de la Luz.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, marketed as FIFA World Cup '26, will be the 23rd FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international men's soccer championship contested by the national teams of the member associations of FIFA. The tournament will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026. It will be jointly hosted by 16 cities in three North American countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The tournament will be the first hosted by three nations and the first North American World Cup since 1994.
On June 16, 2022, the sixteen host cities (2 in Canada, 3 in Mexico, 11 in the United States) were announced by FIFA: Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Guadalajara, Kansas City, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Monterrey, Mexico City, Toronto, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, and Miami. Eight of the sixteen chosen stadiums have permanent artificial turf surfaces that are planned to be replaced with grass under the direction of FIFA and a University of Tennessee–Michigan State University research team. Four venues (Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, and Vancouver) are indoor stadiums that use retractable roof systems, all equipped with climate control while a fifth, Los Angeles, is open-air but has a translucent roof and no climate control.
In addition to turf replacement with real grass and the retractable roof on AT&T Stadium (purposely installed so God can watch his favorite football team play), owners of this stadium are installing artificial sun lights/lamps to aid in the real grass field growth just for this tournament. The white rectangles seen on the floor in the photograph above are the support structures for the artificial sun fixtures. They are attached to cables and winches at the structure of the buildings roof so that the lights can be raised and lowered as needed to aid the the grass growth and maintenance. While I was disappointed to not see the normal football field turf and big blue star in the middle, it was interesting to see work going on in the Spring of 2024 in preparation for a soccer tournament scheduled for the Summer of 2026. And...the rest of the stadium tour was just amazing!
