Good morning everyone and I hope you had a nice weekend. Just a simple triptych of a male Yellow-shafted Northern Flicker (Colaptes auratus auratus) I photographed yesterday.
I know, the two pics on the right are a bit blurry. It's because they were taken as the bird it was hop, hopping away on the tree limb. Eventually it flew off. As a result the only pic I reposted is the one on the left where it was stationary, which can be found in the comment section and my stream.
As for the pink color in the background of the first two pics, it's a Magnolia tree blooming.

Ok, this one got me going. I usually do this kind of doodle in pen and then throw out. This I took it further with some colour and freestyled some lines.

These hop vines are part of a heritage garden at Concordia University, up the hill from my house. They have been growing hops for several years, but I have no idea if they use the hops to make beer or if they just like the way they look. I applied a Photoshop Poster Edge filter to the photo.

With lots of kids meeting with the Easter Bunny onboard, the Indiana Transportation Museum's Bunny Hop Express returns to Kokomo, Indiana on Winamac Southern Railway's former PRR Panhandle rails. A round trip from Kokomo to the tiny town of Walton, Indiana was complete with the Easter Bunny riding the rails.

I work nights and this morning was itching to get out and about the fog was wicked, here on the lake grey with a few rays shining through but earlier at dawn just the most gorgeous iridescent soft gold always wished for but not often about......missed that as could not skedattle from work on a photographic mission more's the pity.
After missing the light I was seeing through the window at work thought that some remnants would be possible at Cressbrook Lake and was pleased the big old alpha boy stayed still enought for me to get close enough for a shot, not the best shooting wildlife with a 24mm but I always remember the famous elephant shot of KD's with the wide angle so anything is possible.
This kangaroo would stand over seven feet tall when he raises himself on his back legs so is quite a large boy for a eastern grey, the red kangaroos of the inland are usually the taller of the species but some of these older Eastern Greys are tall and particularly muscular with huge forearms when viewed front on. This old boy looks as though he has been injured in the past but when he got hoppin he could move at a great rate with athleticism
