This was all I could think to do to honor the memories of the children of Sandy Hook Elementary. It just so happened we had an Angel of Hope ceremony on the 6th, for families who have lost a child. I left the flower there with the others in the angels arms.

Several years ago a neighbor had two trees come down. One landed on his grain auger he used with his grain bins, he has them out in the middle of a field now, after getting it fixed. That tree was down on the ground and easy to get at. This one presented more of a challenge. I notched the two limbs on this side and put a cable with hooks on to it and the tractor straightened out the hook. I redone the cable and used two small heavy clevises and it came right on over, pulled from the top fork, 13 feet up. The limbs where they attached to the trunk were over 20 inches. The trunk was over 42 inches up from the base a few feet. The two trees filled my wood pile nicely. It took a while but I got it in before the bad cold weather set in.
I took a trip to my mechanic yesterday and while he was servicing my car I wandered around his shop with my X100. :)

I got this set of hooks from someone in our neighborhood "Buy Nothing" group in July. We finally got it hung in the mudroom the day before school started. Now, Evan can hang up his own backpack and jacket.
