Detail of the fit.

before the new flooring

I thought last night that I'd walk down by the fence with my camera on a tripod and see how it looks from there.

The kitchen has 29 doors and 9 drawer-fronts. Here they are stacked, ready for me to start sanding them. Each one had to be sanded to give the primer purchase. Then they had to be primed and painted--some of them with two coats!

This just needed a little color.

This is like digging out Pompeii. My dad bought the house in 1956 and I remember the different ways that the yard looked like when I was a kid growing up in the 70's. The area next to the fence once had a fish pond in it, but it was filled in with old bricks and dirt when I was about 3 years old and covered over with concrete. I discovered it as I took a jackhammer to it. I thought, "Just this last little strip and I'll be done!" Little did I know what lurked beneath the surface!

We purchased a 1400 + sq foot house in Boynton Beach on a quarter acre land with a fenced in backyard. Doggy door already installed. Now we begin the painting and decorating journey in our new home.

So today, the paint on the parts of the walls near the new sink is dried, so I quickly cut the baseboard and quarter-round to the right lengths (2" on the left side, and almost 2/3 of the original length on the right) and reattach them to the wall.

Then, I slide the sink / cupboard right against the wall, and using the provided screws secured the cupboard to the wall. (to help avoid any.. accidents)

project black wall. L had fun!

Thanks GOD I don't have a hangover or a headache! The birds are freaking out.

...just need to get the glass shelves

All finished and the shelves are built and in place. I only had to put in two stablizing screws in the back wall to keep it square. I was able to cram a whole dresser full of extra clothes in there, plus Kat's stuff.

HOME IMPROVEMENTS: UNDER $100

www.diynetwork.com/home-improvement/30-tips-for-increasin...

Tip: Spend an hour with a pro.

Invite a realtor or interior designer over to check out your home. Many realtors will do this as a courtesy, but you will probably have to pay a consultation fee to a designer. Check with several designers in your area; a standard hourly fee is normally less than $100, and in an hour they can give you lots of ideas for needed improvements. Even small suggested improvements, such as paint colors or furniture placement, can go a long way toward improving the look and feel of your home.

Stairs!

My birthday gift from my dad was a shopping trip of my choosing, so I chose Lowe's. Dad gave us instructions, tools, and supplies, and we turned them into steps from the deck down to the back yard. Runs to the compost bin are much easier now. Yay, stairs!

Our first big project is done!

This room is directly outside our bedroom. Of the tasks performed, we:

-Replaced light fixture with ceiling fan

-Replaced blinds

-Patched all holes and painted the walls "Kalamata"

-Replaced outlets and faceplates with white ones

-Installed recessed directional halogens and put them on a dimmer switch

-4"x3/4" baseboards

I'm remodeling my kitchen. This is a tile sample that I ordered. It was $9.27.
