There ya go, done. The wooden sill will be painted green or something sometime, it's just the tiling that I was focusing on. Ain't it purdy?
This biznitch is in the can.
carpentry Quick solution when supply line is too low and isn’t being moved. Hope this helps someone.
So the "dual European" showerhead I bought a few years ago (as seen here after the bathroom renovation) has developed a couple cracks recently that are spraying water outside the shower enclosure, and this cannot be. I'm serious, this was tripping the GFI because it would spray all the way to the vanity with the curtain closed.
So today I have installed this, and will be trying it out in a few minutes because... well, I went to work dirty for the first time to avoid having to mop up the room, and my hair is mega-greasy right now because of that fact. This one has 3 settings: comfie shower, cosey shower, and cleansing shower.
I'm going to miss the degree of swivel the old one had. My flange points down not straight out!
There are a few studs left to be installed but the major framing is complete. I also wired an outlet that will sit on top of the mantel. The switch is a low voltage switch for the fireplace.
The framing on the top of the fireplace is unusual as there is a gap to facilitate the fireplace exhaust. Per the directions there can't be any material within an inch of it for safety. In order to maximize the ledge for the mantel I skipped over the exhaust with the framing.
The remodel is finally complete in the boys bathroom. We went from yellow ducks to pirate. The border actually came in this week so I can't wait to get that up as well. It looks so different from what it was.

This is an AFTER of the first bathroom. I am pleased with the way it turned out. I had a nice set from Bed Bath and Beyond but then went to Macy's and found this curtain. Since the house is earth toned I thought that this would be a cheery and welcoming change.

Responsible Handyman Las Vegas installed this gorgeous 12" granite tile with an accent strip along our tub surround and shower . They also made 4 granite corner shelves to match. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Las Vegas area that needs some home improvement or maintenance!
This took frickin' hours and I am now wearing a few bandages, but the functional parts of this corner are done now. Getting the cabinets bolted up wasn't so much a problem, but finding studs where to put the bolts was. Putting in the electrical wasn't tough, just required a little configuring because the electrical wire came out of the wall below the cabinet. Also, I followed the template for where to put the screws for the microwave and yet... the holes didn't line up. And the spacer blocks I put in per the instructions, despite being glued up, kept moving so I couldn't get the screws in place so simply... And then putting in the vent pipe from microwave to the hole in the ceiling was a huge debacle because the difference between the middle of the two holes is 4½" so I had to bend some pipe... And once I was putting the pipe in the cabinet that's when the attic part of the pipe fell in like a prolapsed rectum, so I had to go to the attic and screw around with that (including doing some cutting with a Dremel) to get that crap back in... And did I mention the miles of duct tape that connect the two ends?
But the damn thing is done!! And works. Bring on the paint!
Now, to do tile decoration below this...
Our house came with a pedestal sink.. but as you can see the builder's rough-plumber didn't give a shit, so all the water lines aren't hidden behind the leg.. Anyways, we wanted more room to store washroom stuff such as cleaners and other hash chemicals.. So, out this goes! (Well, to the basement it goes, anyways.. we aren't throwing it out just yet)
