Type D 200

Today is going very well. I've spent the morning taking pictures, drinking coffee, listening to very good music, and relaxing. The last week and a half has been non stop. I love this time of year, the busyness of family, friends, and work is absolutely wonderful.. but having a peaceful time to create is essential for sanity!

Glaze the cake. Transfer the cake to a serving plate. Melt the remaining bitter sweet chocolate and drizzle over the top of the cake. . . . . . . .

Oh forget it just enjoy the cake.

This was specially baked for Nikhil's Birthday.

It took much longer than expected, but finally the ‘Home Alone’ project is completed 🙏😊 started building back in November 2021, based on 9 regular base plates (using a MILS technique), containing over 10 000 bricks…from the minifig scale basement to the attic all floors -and of course the garage- are fitted out with a full interior as well. Since I posted already pictures covering the building inside I focused on the exterior this time. You can also find a close up from the minifigs included in the scenery. I plan to take a final video soon with a detailed overview of the final product.

The long Road Home, Digital

IMG_7907ef5

He and his new wife Ethel Richmond Walker returned to Morrison, where he concentrated his efforts on developing the Red Rocks area, which he named The Garden of the Titans. There he built a road to the area, a teahouse, hiking trails, and a funicular or incline railway to the top of Mt. Morrison, the longest cog railway in the world at the time. The famed opera diva Mary Garden, accompanied by Ethel on the violin, sang in the Red Rocks natural amphitheater and pronounced it “acoustically perfect.” Many other concerts by the day’s famous musicians and performers followed.

all are now largely abandoned

To be honest we celebrated 2 days early but close enough.

Best Luxury homes design

Considering my 365 goals a picture of my living room seems a bit desperate but since I spent so much of my week with my butt glued to that couch while watching Pope Francis on TV it is an appropriate view.

Palácio da Alvorada (Alvorada Palace)

The Palácio da Alvorada is the official residence of the President of Brazil. The palace was designed, along with the rest of the city of Brasília, by Oscar Niemeyer and inaugurated in 1958. It is located at SHTN Asa Norte in Brasília.

One of the first structures built in the republic's capital city, the "Alvorada" lies on a peninsula at the margins of Lake Paranoá. The principles of simplicity and modernity, that in the past characterized the great works of architecture, oriented Niemeyer's project. The viewer has an impression of looking at a glass box, softly landed on the ground with the support of thin external columns.

The building has an area of 7,000 m2 and three floors: basement, landing and second floor. On the basement level are located the auditorium, kitchen, laundry, medical center, and the administration. On the landing are located the rooms used by the presidency for official receptions. The second floor is the residential part of the palace, with four suites, two apartments and other private rooms.

The building has also a library, a heated Olympic-sized swimming pool, a music room, two dinning rooms and various meeting rooms. Located in adjacent buildings are the chapel and the heliport.

"Home baked pie" in classical soft focus and blurred vignette background treatment, this is my interpretation of the past; I made it a bit blurry as I may not know how the place may really looked like but in my vision, this is my own rendition.

Feel the melancholy of the past... Image taken at the Heritage Stewart farm house Circa 1894.

The house was beautifully restored by the city council... feel the nostalgia and find out how people lived in the 1800's....

You may say that we are lucky to be born in this modern era, where everything is ready and served and water source is readily available within our reach :o)

I want to do a series of cards for special occasions. This is a card for someone moving to a new home.

Those stars are a bit splotchy. I have had a lot of hassle trying to use masking fluid. I now use a ruling pen

But I still get blobs of fluid mucking up my lines. As a result I tend not to use masking fluid at all, which is a real big shame. I hope to overcome my inhibitions with this gloopy stuff as time goes on....

It can be...a bit exaggerated.
