This is from Larkollen in Norway. When I saw these grass bumps I thought they looked like Trumps haircut :) So with no disrespect... this is my field of Trumps :)

Its nice to go out and get a really calming sunrise with soft and gentle tones to it. Enjoyed this "strange" sunrise up at Mam Tor (Derbyshire, UK) last Sunday morning. I actually didnt think i would get anything at all, but really pleased. A really strange sunrise that morning, with the fog shapes around the sun itself and a stunning colour too.
Cheers

Victorian lighthouse off the coast of Dovercourt, North Essex. 40 second exposure, using Formatt-Hitech Firecrest ND13 & 0.6 Soft Grad Filters.
I know I have took and posted a similar picture before but this was taken with my new Hi Tech 10mm 10 stop filter with a lee 0.6 ND grad so wanted to show everyone.
The sky was quite white at this point but the nd grad bought back some detail.
i did colour correct this but decided it actually looked nice with a cooler colour so changed it back slightly.
This is a 130 second exposure thanks to my new Hi Tech filter.
Back to work tomorrow so won't be on as much for a couple of days but will be getting out with my new stuff soon for some picture taking.
My camera was on my tripod and fired via cable release using bulb mode and timed with my watch.
Getting my photo mojo back so I've got lots of ideas springing back into my mind again.
Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou for all your amazing support helping my last few pictures to reach explore and my last one making the flickr front page :)
look forward to seeing more of all your amazing pictures through 2012.
Hope you all had a great xmas and wish you all a prosperous New Year :)

A classic scene in the Tremont area, water slowly moving through the cascades of the Rhododendron lines Middle Prong. There was just a hint of fall color left.
From a trip out to Pittenweem in the East Neuk, Fife, last week.
A long exposure using an ultra-thin circular polariser with a 2.1ND (7-stop) filter giving 9-stops of filtration with a grad over the sky to hold the highlights. Didn't have to correct the deep blue colour cast that you normally get with LE's as this is Formatt-Hitech's Firecrest filters.
There was big banks of low cloud over on the Lothian side of the Forth and more clearer skies overhead.

Please bear with me, this is part two of a series of shots showing how the sunset developed at Godrevy.
At this point I had moved on from anticipation into hope. The horizon had stayed clear and the sunset was fast approaching. It was also at this point that I was rather happy that I had passed up the opportunity to watch Poldark whilst in Poldark country.
