Baltimore, Maryland
I had the pleasure to travel to Baltimore right before Christmas and shoot some new press work and album art for The Hint. Stellar people for sure. Our original plan of shooting near a lake with sail boats and all that good stuff was trashed by the freezing weather. I believe it was like 20 degrees that day. Way too cold. We ended up doing a studio set up and I think we are both happy with the outcome. I ended up traveling really light for this shoot, so I shot with one AB and some speedlites. I haven't shot with the speedlites in awhile because I have been spoiled with all strobes recently, but we made it work!

Some cinnamon bark on a piece of textured art paper. Lit from above through some opaque acrylic with a couple of iPod/iPhone LED lights. Even at the distance, there were sharper shadows than I would have liked, but 25s was getting a little long for the exposure.

Here's an excerpt: Typically, optimal biological growth intersects with optimal financial return when the trees reach twelve inches in diameter, at which point the trees are harvested. Depending on the region in which the farm is located, this takes between ten to twelve years.
