For those of you who are nerdy like me, you are familiar with the term I used in the title of this photo. I was strolling to the Tidal Basin when in DC and passed a tulip patch. This gal was in a patch of tulips and the ends of the petals reminded me of the projections on the wall of the intestine...I warned you I was a nerd.
So it's back to reality. I already miss vacation days. Because I didn't feel like a complete failure if nothing I had planned was accomplished. I was on vacation, so it didn't matter. Take today. I was planning on getting a bunch caught up at work. But, luckily, I checked my work email after getting home from the airport and before going to bed...at 1245 am. I had an email, sent yesterday afternoon, that said I had to be at a mandatory brief to get my orders to move at 0830 the very next morning...nothing like a bit of warning. So, of course, that just threw the rest of my day off. When I finally got to work, I tried to get even an item done on my "to do" list and that didn't happen...
It didn't help that the afternoon ended with giving a client bad news and fighting with the hospital over who is supposed to see me. All I want is for someone to finally do some diagnostics on my back so I don't feel so broke anymore...
But on a good note, I have my pup back (and my cat too). I found out I may get to stop over at home this summer and it not count as my "free travel" for going from overseas-to-overseas, and...well those are the good notes. So with that, I'm going to head to bed with the pets and fall asleep with the Boy before he has to get up and go to work...back to opposite schedules...

Pictures were taken the Jethro Tull and Anoushka Shankar concert in Bangalore two years ago. No need to say, it was breath taking. Loved the music so much.
A beautifully-polished doorknob caught my eye, on a glossy black door on Queen's Lane. Automatic focus wouldn't behave, but manual focus got me what I wanted. That's me on the left, J on the right.
Allen got food poisoning because he was determined to ruin my birthday. JK. We felt terrible for him.

This was a coincidence and I think my favorite shot of him yet. He looks so fashionable and ethnic. =D
Meg was playing around with him and her scarf and I just happened to snap at the right time.
This is Toby, a young dog who has just moved into the area. I met him on my return from the shops as he was heading to the park and after he chewed my hand and sleeve for a few minutes, we became firm friends. :o)
Isn't he lovely?
He bolted. Jess let him off the leash and he just kept running. Then he stopped way off in the distance. And he didn't move. I think he freaked himself out by running away from us, and then froze because he didn't know what to do. I lured him back with some treats, but this photo makes him look like a little lost pup in the woods.
