Meet Alain. We'll call him the unintentional stranger. Once again, back at the fete....I was in hot pursuit to get a shot of the members of a comedy group which had just finished their skit and was walking hastily down the road after them. Alain was walking in front of me and all of a sudden he turns around like he heard a voice calling him from somewhere. He looks at me and then my camera and makes a gesture to indicate that it was OK to take his photo. To be honest, I hadn't even seen him in front of me, and I was a bit baffled by it. But he kept subtly gesturing that it was OK to take his picture, and that he would be happy to stop and pose a bit. Maybe he gets asked alot and it's just a matter of routine for him.. hehee. Well, I figured why not? I took a few shots, promised to send him a copy, and we both went on our merry way to enjoy the rest of the fete ! And now I'm glad that he insisted on it !
And I never did catch up with the comedy troupe ...

Confession: I LOVE seeing him with a paci in his mouth. 😳 He is only allowed to have them in his crib and even that will have to end soon.... But occasionally he sneaks one out and I can't help but stare as I catch a glimpse of "baby Greyson" #growingupishardonamom

chad_tyla_camden: Confession, Camden still is attached to his and he is 2 1/2. :) He only gets it in his bed also, but I'm not looking forward to the day we say bye-bye to paci :) or should I say pacis bc he has 6 of them :)

We love David Burnham..Broadway star. We got to see him tonight sing with Teri Bibb...another Broadway star and the South Coast Symphony. They sang the music of Broadway - Hits from the Great White Way. It was fantastic. Mom gets giddy around him. I think she has a major crush. She thinks of him like a grandson. He and his family are always so gracious to us. What should have been an hour and a half drive turned into a 3 hour drive because of Friday night traffic. We left Santa Clarita at 4:20 and got to Laguna Hills at 7:20. The performance started at 7:30. We just made it. But it was worth the drive. David never disappoints.

Trail runners (French race) at Mu. Dhephu Doma Ani Gompa. High climb above camp with Val for views of the trail to Tibet.
The road building around Mu Gompa broke my heart.

Last night we very unexpectedly had to put our dog to sleep. Duke was the most mellow, kind-hearted dog ever. He was 8 1/2...and we had him since he was a puppy, just a few months old. Words can't express how sad we all feel....but I also know in time we will feel more at peace.... Duke...you were very loved and will be missed greatly....
two days straight of no work,
no crazy hours, no waiting for him to come home.
no kids - they were in school!
so much fun to hang out together
just like the old days
but I love him so much more now.
