Project: Final Major Project ‘Hierarchy is King’ – For this project we were given the choice to pick our own theme which needed to relate back to the rationale of the project. I chose to showcase the ‘Hierarchy’ of the traditional clothing worn by the indigenous 'Igorot' people of the Philippines. I chose this theme because I wanted this project to have a personal and cultural aspect to it, being an 'Igorot' myself. Researching and extracting newfound information for this project was something I found particularly exciting and liberating. I count this as one of my most personal project as it visually communicates who I am as an individual and shows what I find the most interesting and important to have as a developing designer. Which is proudly showcasing ones identity, background and culture creatively through fashion. Shown here is a spread of my sketchbook records showing the starting points of research and early sample experimentations.

This one doesn't look that special, but I think it has a certain hierarchy. You start with the blue box, that points at some kind of rotation, counter clockwise. Then it ends up pointing at the other, less notable box and you look at that. Taken with a sony digital camera.

[Hierarchy of Needs] A Wacom Tablet focuses on the level of Reliability in the Hierarchy of Needs design principle. The tablet would have to successfully translate pen strokes from the tablet to the computer with excellent calibration through the installed driver. If the pen strokes are not successfully translated, the reliability needs are not satisfied. [Raquel Gonzalez]
