I'm not even sure what place this is, it's East of the Bylin Dam, nestled in a hollow and there is a scattering of houses. This is the most stately and clearly abandoned, most are inhabited. It must have been beautiful in its day.
This little cove at the far northern end of Hazards Beach is hidden away in the rocks and trees on the track around Fleurieu Point. The name Hideaway Bay makes me think of a safe little hazen for pirates and smugglers, but then I read too many Enid Blyton books when growing up.
This single shot (not a bracket and no layers used in processing) highlights the dynamic range of the Nikon D850, but I really wanted to capture that bright seascape from out of the shadows.
It was quite liberating being cut off by the tide. Having only a small area to concentrate on , and I started to really enjoy it, when I'd explored how much rock I'd got to play with. It's not a good idea if you don't know the coast really well though. Hideaway is by Queens of the stone Age, and is perfect, it was my own perfect Hideaway, albeit only for a couple of hours. There's a chance we may get snow tomorrow.
I realize its been hard finding a place to get a haircut during this pandemic, but this old shack takes it to new heights. It's sorely in need of a good trim.
This is one of the best nature reclamation processes I've ever seen. :-)

From the vault. The original was a print of a film photograph I took. I then digitized it and made it Painterly. A beautiful and idyllic hideaway on Jalisco, Mexico’s southern coast in late spring 1998. Near La Cruz de Loreto at the estuary.
