This stone eagle is a detail of a building in Detroit, but I cannot remember where.

A stern bronze soldier is above the entrance of the Maccabees Building.

Hally School has all sorts of interesting architectural and ornamental detail: gargoyles, symbols of education and the arts and this stone eagle.

Base of the door, thats a beautiful thing!!

In-process paper and files easily stash under the patio glass overhang. I was too cheap to have a glass piece cut to fit the file cabinets, but I found a tempered glass window that fit -- sort of. (Thanks, Freecycle.org.) Hence the overhang, which has been a serendipitous blessing. I shove papers underneath when I leave the office, and the desk always looks tidy. The computer mouse and keyboard sit on a glass shelf under the desk surface - when I push the shef in, they 'disappear' visually.

Early in 2020, I was approached by Jeffrey Archer's publisher about using this photograph on the front of his new William Warwick novel: 'Hidden in Plain Sight' - to be released in the autumn of 2020. If you see the novel, you will notice that two characters have been added to the jetty and clouds! It was a sunny, cloudless day when I took the photograph but I don't suppose that looked very realistic...

'Twenty Looks Or Paris Is Burning At The Judson Church (S)' by Trajal Harrell at Arika: Episode 5: Hidden In Plain Sight at Tramway, Glasgow on Saturday 25th May 2013

..and also my 15,000th photo!

This dragon fly was perched on a hanging wreath on the outside door at my mother-in-laws house. I was fortunate to photograph him/her for close to a half an hour.

This detail is a stone carving by Corrado Parducci at the Maccabees Building in Detroit's Cultural Center. This is one of a series of similar carvings at the building's entrance. All are variants of what are clearly medieval soldiers. The Maccabees were 2nd century BC Jewish rebels against the Seleucid Dynasty. Albert Kahn was the building's architect.

Last summer I noticed this little area just a few feet from a walking path that I had a hunch might make a pretty little seasonal waterfall.

I thought I'd stop by and pay it a visit today. And I was right, it is a sweet little waterfall.

Lake Tahoe Community College

we bought tickets and this year emerson asked to go, so I bought him a ticket.....he was the ONLY child there........which seems odd as this is about inspiring change in communities and the theme was "hidden in plain sight"

the BEST talk of the night was Dewitt Jones......had me crying, such poignant words at this time of darkness and evil in the world, Dewitt asks you to change your lens and Celebrate all that is right in the world! and he really seemed to look right at our son through his talk........GREAT speakers, the first discussed brain differences in men and women and how that can benefit organizations to use all the assets naturally present in employees.......she was GREAT! Barbara Annis, of course Danish and totally makes sense and while never mentioned the word Hygge...it resonated with me, she made me cozy and want my workplace to feel comfortable and not stressful......totally logical that you get more work from people that feel they fit in!!!!

When Brass City Records closed in Waterbury, CT it turns out there was a referential Cure silhouette behind the wall of import CDs. Sneaky!

These old paintings never cease to amaze me? I've seen UFO's in old, VERY old paintings and other weird and wonderful PROPHECY stuff in some astounding, jaw dropping paintings? Clear and plain as day disclosure.

This detailing of the Metropolitan Building is all the way at the end of the roof, never seen by the public

This is the Coney Island, or maybe the Brighton Beach, Boardwalk. At any rate it is the large wooden sidewalk running between the two from the amusement park to the pier. I was fascinated by the interesting pattern that the boards make, and the idea of photographing the crowded deck in such a way that I could get an expanse of it in and around all of the people who were flowing around me as I was stopped there. Since the process of taking the five pictures you are looking at (and the few I had to toss) took about a minute, know that you are traveling through time from the left to the right of the image. Otherwise, imagine me dodging back and forth trying to keep a rough alignment on the board pattern, but holding my trigger finger until the traffic over next area of the boards abated. Innocent strangers thought I was nuts.

Hidden in Plain Sight: How to Find and Execute Your Company's Next Big Growth Strategy

Author: Erich Joachimsthaler

Publication Date: Mar 30, 2007

Description: Companies must innovate to grow, but they often forget to look beyond their own brands. Take Sony, for example. Its success with consumer innovations like the Walkman blinded it to obvious changes in how, when, and where people wanted their music. Apple capitalized on those changes in demand with the iPod, providing a new way of listening to music and of managing one's entire music library. This book explains how you can spot these opportunities that are hidden in plain sight. It introduces the demand-first innovation and growth model that will show you how to become an unbiased observer of people's consumption and usage behaviors. Refining this skill helps companies generate organic growth through new products, services, solutions, and experiences that truly enhance peoples' lives. Revealing the innovative processes of such organizations as BMW, Proctor and Gamble, GE Healthcare, and Frito-Lay, Hidden in Plain Sight offers you a new approach to identifying and executing your company's growth strategy.

Author Bio: Erich Joachimsthaler is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Vivaldi Partners, a strategy and marketing consulting company.

this brick seamed to be sceaming and i really liked the contrast of the red brick against the lime stones. from my self project "hidden in plain sight"

This is my new desktop photo at work. It really looks great on that 23" monitor. I just love all the deep greens, and the depth of it, where the lizard and the leaves over him seem to project out of the blurred background. You really need to click it to appreciate the dark tones though..

I hope that doesn't sound like bragging, because it's not. And it's not perfect. I missed the perfect focus by a quarter inch, which is frustrating, but since my photography is just for me, I can live with it.

If I were a professional, that quarter inch would not be acceptable, and I would have to obsess over it. Where would the fun be in that? I'd rather have fun with my little friends with my hobby/obsession, and make up silly titles that make me smile..

Detroit prepares for Super Bowl XL.

I broke out our point & shoot (Canon A80) to play around with; it's the camera that got me into digital photography. I think something is wrong with the CCD, because all the other pics had magenta streaks across them. I did manage to get this clear shot of the raindrops on the windshield of my truck, against the gray November sky.
