I believe that these beautiful herons are nesting at Ocean City, New Jersey

Great Blue Heron

Due to the lack of rain most of my "spots" are dried up...so what I find is just plain luck...Hope for rain!!

Heron - Cleethorpes.

This is one of a pair of Herons that live on the tiny resort island of Makunuku in the Maldives.

Although wild, he is very relaxed about wandering around the resort. The staff have named him 'Tiramisu'.

The heron(s) on this lake either let me get close on the kayak or fly away as soon as I get near. This one tolerated me for a few minutes and then flew away to a place that was not kayak accessible.

Le Héron cendré (Ardea cinerea Linnaeus, 1758) est une espèce d'oiseaux échassiers de la famille des Ardeidae. Il se caractérise par un long cou, un long bec pointu et de longues pattes. Il possède une excellente vue panoramique latérale et une très bonne vision binoculaire frontale. Son ouïe, également très développée, le fait réagir au moindre bruit suspect. Il atteint en général 95 cm de hauteur et une envergure de 1,85 m pour une masse de 1,5 à 2 kg. Le Héron cendré peut vivre 25 ans mais des individus n'atteignent même pas un an.

It's hard to believe that a Great Blue Heron can eat this big fish.
