Neil Diehl

Neil is a delightfully welcoming man, who quickly revealed to me that his wife had also struggled with cancer and succumbed to it several years ago. As we toured his luxurious home, every nook and cranny uncovered a new story about her. She had put sizable effort into creating the space they called home. The vivid descriptions of their times together almost made it feel as if I were photographing the two of them together. The clock in Helpful Hands is one that Neil salvaged from the demolition of a bridge—he has a newspaper clipping to prove it! More amazing is that the clock still runs on its original motor. Neil is a retired executive of the Marine Division Ingram Industries. He appears in Steadfast and Helpful Hands.
