I had become lost in the Takoma neighborhood. This jogger actually led me to my destination. North Dakota Ave NW (between 2nd St & 3rd St), Washington DC.
the last directions to Jen's place said to look for the Beetle and that's exactly how i was able to find her house. in the dark even.
i'm still anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Mac and will be posting shots of my trip to the Konig's until it gets here. i've been completely uninspired to take pictures knowing that they won't be going on the Mac when they're downloaded. c'mon UPS!
Hmmm, that'd be a good name for a band...
Corn (or as the Indians called it, maize) in the community garden at the Art Gallery.
As you can imagine with a bully, George was VERY interested in helping me pack up the house for our move..... until he got wind of something and decided to try and climb over our wall. Stoopid boy.
This is evidently a haraboji (할아버지), that is, a grandpa, helping to zip up his grandson. Recovery Park is big, and there were lots of families there, milling around, playing, chatting, and so on, while the orchestra set up.
Looks like someone must have been having some problems with the lock. How nice of them to leave this helpful advice.

Helpful poster from the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary in Kuranda. I'm not convinced that all the butterflies I saw there were on this poster, but it's a nice bright helpful image anyway, so I thought I'd upload it.
I took this from across the street, shortly after a woman collapsed on Michigan Avenue, and these folks jumped in to help. I think the girl in blue called 911, because the cops and paramedics were on the scene pretty quickly.
Parsnip had a burst of energy last night and decided to help out around the apartment. Here she has completed her project of flipping over the doormat and moving it three feet from the door..
The Cassini spacecraft gazes toward a distant star as Saturn's rings slip
past in the foreground. At upper left is the outer A ring, with its dark
Keeler Gap. At lower right, a train of bright clumps shuttles past in the
wispy F ring.
A temporal sequence of images like this allow Cassini scientists to
correlate features in the rings with stellar occultation data acquired by
other instruments. As the star passes behind the rings, the changes in its
brightness indicate how much empty space is between particles at different
locations on the rings.
This view looks toward the lit side of the rings from about 56 degrees
below the ringplane.
The image was taken in visible light with the Cassini spacecraft
narrow-angle camera on Dec. 30, 2006 at a distance of approximately
633,440 kilometers (393,686 miles) from Saturn. Image scale is 4
kilometers (2 miles) per pixel.
The Cassini-Huygens mission is a cooperative project of NASA, the European
Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory,
a division of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, manages
the mission for NASA's Science Mission Directorate, Washington, D.C. The
Cassini orbiter and its two onboard cameras were designed, developed and
assembled at JPL. The imaging operations center is based at the Space
Science Institute in Boulder, Colo.

helping her teammates know where they need to go while on the field. some of the girls on Madison's team are playing soccer for the first time or played a while ago. She has been a great asset to tthe team in her knowledge of positioning and where she needs to be on the field during the plays. Having Alex coach her last season helped her a lot!!
Everyone we met in the village were so hospitable and were full of information and made us feel really welcome. One could only imagine what the people of the village would have gone through when they were in PoK...

NOTE: Look "wall-eyed" at the top pair or "cross-eyed" at the bottom pair to get a 3D image from the fused pictures. Another illustration.
Here's a helpful tip for viewing stereo pairs.

I was a bit too soft spoken calling the waitress across the room so he bellowed out "Ajumma! yoegi yo!" for me.
