Here is a picture I love of Apollo taken the day I got him. This is his uncle a beautiful example of a perfect mastiff. I love his expression in this, you can almost read his thoughts.

A group from Brighton University (including the renown Art School), England raised funds in support of the victims of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami 東北地方太平洋沖地震, in Japan.
Their activities included running Origami Peace Crane workshops. The full text of a document accompanying a display exhibit of some of the Peace Cranes made - including details of the charities supported - can be read in the description here.
These hanami 花見 blossom flowers photographed around the same time in the nearby Pavilion Gardens park are normally associated with a traditional time of joy, but still now - maybe - of hope...
The white blossom are on a hybrid / cross Cherry tree, possibly Prunus × yedoensis / Yoshino Cherry / 染井吉野.

Hove Women RFC celebrated 35 years of rugby with a game between past and present members with emphasis on fun.
Help raise money for the Jubilee Debt Campaign and Save the Children HIV/AIDS programme.
My facebook page has been created to help raise money for my nominated great north run charities (Jubilee Debt Campaign and Save the Children HIV/AIDS programme). Rather than asking people for sponsorship I'm going to sell prints at a knock down price with every single penny of profit (basically everything minus cost of print) going to the charities. So dig deep and buy some!
I'm currently working out what the best sizes to offer are and at what price. Email me in the meantime if you're interested in buying some prints.

Climbing an unnamed road up to Trefor Granite Quarry at the northern coast of the Llŷn Peninsula, in Gwynedd, Caernarfon, Wales to deliver a Mobile Mini or Algeco box to a supposed Game of Thrones film set to-be.
We hit a bit of a snag! 800 (2624.6ft) or so metres up this road, at around 150m (492.1ft) elevation 16% slope (according to Google Earth), the DAF CF 530 of JPL loses traction in some gravel and can't continue the climb on her own.
It began to rain quite a bit.
There was a dump truck up at the top that had to help us finish the rest of the 1.03km (3379.2) climb. To be fair to this DAF CF, she made most of it on her own weighing around 28tonnes with the 2 tonne box on her back! Sadly, auto gearbox and losing traction in loose gravel hindered the rest of her climb.
Fun times! lol
URBAN ART FESTIVAL

The Urban Art Festival Amsterdam presents and exhibits artwork by contemporary urban artists, including paintings on canvas, sculptures, photography, designer toys, video installations and video mapping.
Each night, an electronic music party alongside live and synchronised video performances will complement the exhibition.
The last day will host an artistic trade-fair called “underground market” where local artist labels, collectives and individuals will sell and promote their own art pieces such as clothes, jewellery, toys, music, publications and handcrafts.
The artist line-up guarantees an exciting and diverse exhibition. Many of our artists will paint three murals on Saturday @ OT301.

After the rush.
The fifth SS Rotterdam, also known as "The Grande Dame", is a former ocean liner and cruise ship, and has been a hotel ship in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, since 2010. She was launched by Queen Juliana of the Netherlands in a gala ceremony on 13 September 1958, and was completed the following summer. The Rotterdam was the last great Dutch "ship of state", employing the finest artisans from the Netherlands in her construction and fitting out process. Her career spanned forty-one years. She sailed from 1959 until her final retirement in September 2000.
The mill next to our office seems to produce crackers of some time. The dough is being kneaded here with the help of a little machinery.
