This little green plastic toy swimming duck escaped from my local Pound Shop ..... paddled to my house .....
where it ended up in my favourite green cereal bowl.
Well I figured it may make the ideal prop for Macro Monday this week ..... the topic is predominantly green ......
which this is mostly, on the whole green with a little red an some black & white, so more green than any other colour.

Hello friends, it is getting better. Since two weeks I am in a rehab near Oberstdorf, Wasach. I will stay here for 3 weeks more from now on . And there is still a lot to do. I haven't lost the pain already but I am looking forward. The picture shows a view from Wasach to the mountains of Oberstdorf, in the morning, yesterday. .... CU Moni ☺
De zwarte zwaan (Cygnus atratus) is een vogelsoort uit het geslacht Cygnus (zwanen).
De zwarte zwaan is bijna volledig zwart met enkel witte handpennen. De rozerode snavel is lichter op de punt. De poten zijn grijs. De zwarte zwaan heeft van alle zwanen de langste hals: meer dan half zo lang als de totale lichaamslengte. Hij wordt 110 tot 140 centimeter lang en tot zes kilogram zwaar. De geslachten zijn qua uiterlijke kenmerken gelijk.
De zwarte zwanen vormen rond hun tweede levensjaar een koppel voor het leven. De kuikens worden door de ouders samen opgevoed. De zwarte zwaan is niet honkvast. Bij zwerftochten kan hij afstanden van honderden kilometers overbruggen en zorgt zo ook zelf voor zijn verspreiding. Kenmerkend is de klagende, trompetterende roep bij hun nachtelijke vluchten. Zijn voedsel bestaat uit grassen en waterplanten.
Deze soort komt van nature voor in Australië, Tasmanië en Nieuw-Zeeland.
De zwarte zwaan is een populaire sierwatervogel die veel wordt gehouden en gekweekt. Ontsnapte of uitgezette exemplaren kan men ook in de Europese natuur tegenkomen, maar worden beschouwd als exoot. In Europa broeden ze het gehele jaar door.

Riding the Great Orme Tramway back down the mountain to Llandudno (Wales), greetings are exchanged with the travelers going up. Opened in 1902 & an engineering marvel for its time, this is the only cable-hauled tramway still operating on British public roads.

Hello There - Happy World Photography Day! For this day, I wanted to share this image of a subadult Coastal Alaskan Brown Bear taking a break from rock flipping for food. Back in the summer of 2019, I was blessed with a fully paid for trip/work opportunity in Haines, Alaska & Whitehorse, Yukon. I'd never been up to Alaska or Canada, and it was great to experience the remote last frontier and see my first Brown Bears without any bear jams/crowds! I hope to return in the near future in the winter time to photograph the Canada Lynx, foxes, and Bald Eagle congregations.
