Nach der Arbeit Freitags direkt zur Burg gefahren und nach der Ankunft war eigentlich der Plan vor den Abendessen noch schnell eine kleine Runde gehen und die Location auszukundschaften. Als ich an der Stelle ankam musste ich natürlich auch ein Bild mitnehmen. Nachdem ich gemerkt habe das irgendwas von hinten die Landschaft immer heller werden lässt und ich realisiert habe das es sich dabei um den Vollmond handelt, musste ich meinen Plan Milchstraße mit Burg in Startrail mit Burg abgeändern :)
Und da ich schon mal da war natürlich auch gleich den besten Moment abgewartet und dieses Bild aufgenommen. Einen Tag später wäre es so auch nicht mehr möglich gewesen, da es am nächsten Tag bewölkt war und die nächsten Tage Regen gemeldet war.
Somit mal wieder Glück gehabt ;)

This is straight from the camera with no editing at all. The logo on his shirt is a light stencil popped at angle to match his pose. Converted from Canon's sRAW with no editing. I was shooting for a stop motion film in the afternoon and had it set to 'sRAW' and forgot to reset the quality before I went shooting at night...oooops.
Hells Gates is the name of the mouth of Macquarie Harbour on the West Coast of Tasmania, Australia.
It is a notoriously shallow and dangerous channel entrance to the harbour. The actual channel is between Macquarie Heads on the west and Entrance Island on the east (the main length of the harbour runs southeast of Hells Gates). There is a wider area of water between Entrance Island and the eastern shore, but it is too shallow to get a boat over.
Braddon Point is the name of the feature on the eastern shore, while the shallow water south of the point is named Fraser Flats, and the channel adjacent to the breakwater is known as Kelly Channel.
The name of the channel relates to the original convicts' claim that it was their point of "entrance to Hell", their Hell being the Macquarie Harbour Penal Station on Sarah Island and the outlying surrounds of the harbour.
Breakwater and channel
Between 1900 and 1902 the Macquarie Harbour Entrance Works involved the building of a breakwater and the channel was dredged. Parts of the breakwater can still be seen despite the passage of time. The Strahan Marine Board was involved with the monitoring of the mouth until 19 May 1970, when the Hobart Marine Board took over.
Both Entrance and Bonnet Islands have lights, and they were built before the Cape Sorell Lighthouse.

A fable about Hell which recurs in folklore across several cultures is the allegory of the long spoons. Hell is often depicted in art and literature, perhaps most famously in Dante's Divine Comedy.

This bizarre place is called Hell's Half Acre. It's right in the middle of Wyoming. Right next to, ummmmm... Right next to absolutely nothing in the middle of absolutely nowhere. I have been to several badlands sort of rock formations, and this one is probably the best I've ever seen. I don't know why it's called Hell's Half Acre. It's over 300 acres. Very interesting place. Kind of a miniature Bryce Canyon.

I explored this canyon a little recently and look forward to visiting it again next spring to see what reptiles I might be able to turn up here.

Op de opnieuw zonnige morgen van 23 juli 2018 werd op de eerste vakantiedag in de vroege morgen naar het buurtschap Hell gereden. Niet lang na aankomst passeerde hier de goed beladen Coevorden shuttle van de Bentheimer Eisenbahn met als tractie de BE-E01 alias 1835. Als trein 50420 en met een vriendelijke groet van de meester passeert het geheel hier de twee fotografen op weg naar Coevorden.

Bumpass Hell, which is a hydrothermally altered geothermal area that is in Lassen Volcanic National Park, and has hot springs, fumaroles, and boiling mud pots.

Hells Canyon National Recreation Area was created in 1975.
Hells Canyon Overlook is located 45 miles east of Joseph, Oregon
The Seven Devils Mountains form a spectacular area of high picks and mountain lakes. The He Devil is the highest pick at 9393 feet above sea level and is surrounded by several other picks on nearly the same elevation. Legend has it, that a lost Indian was surprised by a devil in this area and as he run away he encountered six more devils; upon his return to the tribe he told of the Seven Devils who scared him and from this the name seven Devils was derived.
