at the entrance to Macquarie Harbour, in colonial times the location of a notoriously severe prison [Sarah Island] built to detain recidivist convicts. the lighthouse [built 1892] marks the extremely dangerous harbour entrance known as Hell's Gate
Opened in 1916, The Hell Gate Bridge, is a 1,017-foot long steel through arch railroad bridge in New York City. The bridge carries two tracks of Amtrak's Northeast Corridor and one freight track across the Hell Gate, a strait of the East River, between Astoria in Queens, and Randalls and Wards Islands in Manhattan.

Jigokudani or "Hell Valley" is a spectacular, appropriately named valley just above the town of Noboribetsu Onsen, which displays hot steam vents, sulfurous streams and other volcanic activity. It is a main source of Noboribetsu's hot spring waters.
From the valley, there are attractive walking trails through the wooded hills above Noboribetsu. If you follow them for about 20 to 30 minutes, you will get to Oyunuma, a sulfurous pond with a surface temperature of 50 degrees Celsius and a smaller, even hotter, mud pond nearby.
To eneter, you must pass through Hells Gates.
This is the entrance to Macquarie Harbour, near Strahan on the west coast of Tasmania. It is affectionately called Hells Gates, relating to to the original convicts' claim that it was their point of 'entrance to Hell', their Hell being the Macquarie Harbour Penal Station on Sarah Island and the outlying surrounds of the harbour.
This is the only accessible point into the harbour by boat. At 120 metres wide it doesn't leave much room for error. On the left we have the Entrance Island lighthouse and off to the right, Bonnet Island Lighthouse.

“When we fall in love, we hope - both egotistically and altruistically - that we shall be finally, truly seen: judged and approved. Of course, love does not always bring approval: being seen may just as well lead to a thumbs-down and a season in hell.”

Truth be told, simple and bold
I think you're special
We can roll like a team, you know what I mean
See, I'm not gonna mess around and I'm not gonna let you down
cause I do love you
This I know
Money makes the world go 'round
People will be people always
Baby, what goes up comes down
This I know, so here I go
Do you love me baby??
Hit or miss, here's what it is you are that someone
a diamond in the rough, the real stuff
Now if goodness are to find,
then luck is a friend of mine, cause I do love you
this I knoooow
I'm a rolling thunder, a pouring rain
I'm comin' on like a hurricane
My lightning's flashing across the sky
You're only young but you're gonna die
I won't take no prisoners, won't spare no lives
Nobody's putting up a fight
I got my bell, I'm gonna take you to hell
I'm gonna get you, Satan get you......

Remember that alltime classic "Highway to Hell"?
This is the live version performed in Arnhem in 1979: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqwFfGgLPzM
I think this setting was the best.
Bon Scott, the leadsinger died one year later.........
Brian Johnson (former leadsinger of Geordie) became the new leadsinger,
but I prefer Bon Scott. Guess the schoolboy act from Angus Young is legendary.
I still can enjoy this song turning my amplifier to the max!
thanks to Hanjosan: I forgot to place the link.....
