Helicopters

My very first model, which was made in the spring of 2012 from a LEGO 8051 Technic set. Instructions included two cool bikes. I didn't want to make one more and, moving aside two bike wheels, the idea of creating an aircraft came right away. As there were no additional wheels, I decided to make it with skids.

Instructions are available on the App Store fo free.

Sitting in the garden this afternoon, there's the unmistakable beat of an Apache approaching. Not one, but two.

Great display.

Was flying pretty low ... and away from the border. Wonder who/what they were looking for.

There were at least 4 helicopters going from water to fire in circles.

Perhaps the shutter speed was too fast; but I feel lucky to have gotten this shot. After all, it's not every day a fancy helicopter passes a hundred feet in front of your telephoto lens as you emerge from a tunnel on a bicycle. This is the full frame. In the full resolution the coily cords in the cabin are quite clear.
