This photo was taken in Autumn around June, but it is now spring in Australia actually. I really like autumn, have some special feeling with this season~~ romantic and also emptiness~~

I am not sure about English culture~~ but in Chinese culture... there are quite a few songs using Autumn as heartbroken background season. And I think it is why autumn always make me feel that way~~ beautiful, romantic, but lonely~~

Perhaps something beautiful never last long~ when it comes to the end of Autumn, all the leaves fall off and the only thing left is the empty branches. Then you have to wait for the next spring~~ for the new leaves and life to grow again~~

Just like if you got a brokenheart, you need to take time to heal yourself... until someday... you will be really for love again~~

love... sometimes is a recycle thing like nature~

I'll be brief...I am completely heartbroken and really angry, i have no words to describe how I feel since i read this news. I am not on other social networks, but with this pic of my cat and these few words I want to share my feelings and to help that innocent creature to find justice,so I want to thank with all my heart every single friend here on Flickr who will take a minute to read and sign this petition and try to find this psychopath. Thank you! animalpetitions.org/201483/justice-for-cat-tortured-to-de...

There is a ghost here.

A lonely, heartbroken spirit.

The ghost of everything that could’ve been and never was.

My daughter 27, my fourth daughters boyfriend 18, my nephew 25 all died in the last three months. So young. So sad. So heartbroken. For Nade, Audrey and Siobhan - 'HEARTBROKEN'

First shot with my SX-70 and the new/old Artistic TZ film.

...before everything went horribly wrong and now my camera won't eject the film and I tried fixing it and now it won't stop cycling and won't stop squealing at me. So now I have half a pack that's probably ruined, and one full pack in the fridge and no SX-70 to shoot with. I'm heartbroken.

Her last day before euthanasia. Her cancer had metatisized and her lungs weren't working well. I am heartbroken but she is not suffering any longer.

Day 189. So I'm not really heartbroken but sometimes it feels that way. Oh and yes I suck at free hand drawing.

The Mary St. pedestrian bridge. There were a number of locks, some of which seemed to be 'love locks' (if not all). However, some heartbroken snook took a spray can to them.

Taken from an entrance to Notre Dame Cathedral that I visited several years ago. So sad that it was devastated by fire.

the details

She had been wife to the King. Raised to center herself around this purpose, to be pleasing, submissive to him in every way. She watched as her sisters gained his favor, and yearned to improve herself in order to also win his heart and approval. In trust, she sought them out for advice. Confiding she wished she were able to satisfy in the ways they did. Seeing the opportunity present, the elder convinced her to mutilate herself, that to serve him this piece of herself would bewitch the king and she would always be in his graces. Needless to say this was not the case, and upon discovering how she had disfigured herself, he cast her out of the kingdom. Humiliated and heartbroken, this is how she came to be the guardian of the cemetery. She would never again take another husband, he would always remain her true spouse, however she would never trust in or keep the company of man again. Instead, locking herself into the place where the spirits came to rest. Guiding them to the next path meant for their evolution. ~ Pataki of Obba Nani.

I finally made it back there again, in my dream... It’s been three years since I took this shot. Just when I wanted to make it back there two years ago the big fire started and that was the end of it. I recently came across a few photos shot by people who snuck in, and they were heartbroken... I wish I can make it back there one day in my lifetime.

When I heard that Prince died today, I was shocked and, inevitably, heartbroken. The entirety of my youth was laced with Prince music, at some points, as ever-present and loud as a soundtrack. And so I had to pull away from Facebook and all the stories and images and R.I.P.s and saddness. I left the house and hit the woods with the dog and the camera in an odd state of mournful delirium, maybe a little denial. I didn't care that it was muddy and drizzling rain. I didn't care that the woods around my place are already seemingly satiated with ticks. Right away, I found an evil-eyed Eastern Box Turtle on the move (surely in search of love) who made me smile. Then I found a fascinating line of odd-shaped, brown fungi, little cauldron cups that I came to learn were so affectionately named Devil's Urn. I also discovered this wonderful wad of warm moss, shaped like a fuzzy heart. The nature walk was healing, as was finding the right music to stream and the right movie to watch this evening. I'm not sure if I feel satiated as of yet. I might have to keep gathering up Prince tomorrow. Life and love in all things, even death.

Llanddwyn Island is named after St Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers. Legend has it that she was spurned by a prince and retreated heartbroken to the island. There she was granted three wishes, and asked to be given the power to grant the wishes of true lovers.

Standing 80 feet tall, Puu Pehe—also known as “Sweetheart Rock” (center) —is one of Lanai’s most recognizable landmarks. It is also the setting for one of Hawaii’s most enduring legends.

The Legend

The story goes that a ravishing young princess from Maui, was captured by a young warrior from Lanai. He took her as his wife and brought her back to his home island. He was so stricken with her beauty that he was afraid to let other men see her, and thus he confined the princess to a sea cave near the rock.

One day, as the warrior was away, the weather suddenly changed drastically, and the raging surf began to pound this side of the island. The warrior rushed back to the cave, but it was too late: His beloved Puu Pehe had drowned. Heartbroken, he retrieved her body and, with the help of the gods, climbed the steep rock island, where he buried her in a tomb. Overcome with grief, the warrior then leapt off the rock to his death.

C candid street photo of a really dramatic scene. A wedding party takes a group shot on the steps of a building. A young man appeared in the background all of a sudden. He looks rather upset and heartbroken. The bride was warned by the girl in the back row and looks back at the man. He seems to come to say his final goodbye to his beloved who has chosen another man as her husband. He is all protest, but he can do nothing. Black and white version.

I am so sad to report that poor Tubby was killed on our transformer Wednesday morning and I am heartbroken, this guy gave us so much joy and we will miss him terribly, when I got up in the morning he was always at his little chair eating some corn....I will miss being greeted in the morning that way.

I am glad that I have lots and lots of photos of him to share! He had such a presence and this may sound weird but he was full of personality...

The security council’s ban on mass events till 31 August means that all the big summer events will be cancelled. In Ghent too many are heartbroken, It is the first time since World War I that the Ghent Festivities will not take place. The Festival of Ghent is without doubt the biggest and best-known street festival in Europe, attracting around 2 million visitors each year. “The Ghent Festivities are part of the city’s DNA. The cancellation of course hurts, but we are resilient. In 2021 we plan to party twice as hard” said Mathias De Clercq, the city’s mayor. Here are some memories of the sparkling “Gentse Feesten” from 2014. On display are people enjoying a performance of late Walter De Buck. It was one of his last public appearances before he passed away later that year. Walter De Buck was a singer, sculptor and founder of the modern “Gentse Feesten” – Sint-Jacobsplein, Ghent, Belgium.

We're drowning,

heartbroken, falling...

Time has won

The storm has come

The waves are splashing,

Pulling us under

But we must stay strong

We have to get through.

Swim, swim to the shore,

And start new

Poor Adelaide-Skye, she felt heartbroken. Her sister Mirela recommended her to drink Love Portion Antidote to heal her heart.

This photo was taken a few weeks back, but it more exemplifies the mood of the city this evening as another senseless waste of life has taken place. Minneapolis, you're always on our minds.

I'm reposting this because I watched an episode of Rizzoli and Isles which is recorded in Boston.

The magnificent, Dusty Button, in Anthony Randazzo's lovely, wonderful class, onstage at The Boston Opera House, during The Boston Ballet Fiftieth Anniversary Alumni Reunion Weekend. Fantastic...:)

I was heartbroken to discover that the view from front row seats at the Boston Opera House cuts off the dancers' feet!!!! This may be great for opera audiences, however, it is a disaster for dance photography!!!

I could get decent photos of dancers only when they were jumping! That was after the ballet class moved from the barre to combinations in "the center." Notice the missing feet of the dancers who are not jumping...(:-(

Another interesting observation. The dancers exhibit different dance styles. I imagine it's because the dancers are from all over the world...

Gardeners in the Nishat Bagh in Srinagar.

Nishat Bagh is a terraced Mughal garden built on the eastern side of the Dal Lake, close to Srinagar in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. ‘Nishat Bagh’ is Urdu, and means the "Garden of Joy," "Garden of Gladness" and "Garden of Delight."

Located on the bank of the Dal Lake, with the Zabarwan Mountains as its backdrop, Nishat Bagh is a garden with views of the lake beneath the Pir Panjal mountain range. The Bagh was designed and built in 1633 by Asif Khan, elder brother of Nur Jehan.

When Shah Jahan saw the garden, after its completion in 1633, he expressed great appreciation of its grandeur and beauty. He is believed to have expressed his delight three times to Asif Khan, his father-in-law, in the hope that he would make a gift of it to him. As no such offer was forthcoming from Asif Khan, however, Shah Jahan was piqued and ordered that the water supply to the garden should be cut off. Then, for some time, the garden was deserted. Asif Khan was desolate and heartbroken. When he was resting under the shade of a tree, in one of the terraces, his servant was bold enough to turn on the water supply source from the Shalimar Bagh. When Asif Khan heard the sound of water and the fountains in action he was startled and immediately ordered the disconnection of the water supply as he feared the worst reaction from the Emperor for this wanton act of disobedience. Fortunately Shah Jahan, who heard about this incident at the garden, was not annoyed by the disobedience of his orders. Instead, he approved of the servant’s loyal service to his master and then ordered the full restoration rights for the supply of water to the garden to Asif Khan, his Prime Minister and father-in-law.

The Mughal Princess Zuhra Begum, the daughter of the Mughal Emperor Alamgir II, and granddaughter of the Emperor Jahandar Shah, was buried in the garden.

Sad to see a child's scooter abandoned in the undergrowth at the JFK Arboretum. I wonder if it was left behind by mistake & the child was heartbroken or if it broke & was left deliberately because the parents couldn't be bothered to carry it home & dispose of it? It's a wonder the staff hadn't removed it, looks like it's been there a while.

For 100 pictures in 2017 #97 Unwanted

It's the age-old story of "just make up something racist."

This is the marker for the grave of Susan O. Hail, a woman who died in 1852 while traveling the Oregon Trail in Nebraska.

The original stone is long gone, so in 1933, a new one was placed by Hastings Outdoor Club. They tried to explain this lonesome grave by claiming: "Legends says this pioneer died after drinking water poisoned by Indians."

But that's not what happened.

The truth is that the 34 year old Hail was traveling with her husband Richard and their six children. They were on their way to California. In what is now Adams County, Nebraska, Susan came down with cholera and died.

Richard was heartbroken and poor. He marked the grave with a makeshift marker turned around, heading back for the nearest town so he could have a proper marble stone carved.

He arrived in either St. Joseph or Omaha, sold his horses and bought the stone and a wheelbarrow. He carted the headstone in the wheelbarrow all the way across Nebraska. After laying the stone, he joined another wagon train heading west.

The stone procured by Richard told the basic facts, mentioning nothing about water poisoned by Indians.

After moving on, the stone became a point of local pride. Nearby residents would take care of the grounds surrounding the grave. This is probably where the story of the poisoned water came in.

At some point (before 1933), the stone was destroyed and the one that is there now was erected. There are additional plaques placed by the Oregon-California Trails Association and Nebraska Historical Society that tell the actual story of what happened.

About 4% of those who traveled the Oregon Trail died along the way - the vast majority of those from disease.

Last night, at about 2 in the morning - I lost a best friend. My rat, Winston Churchill. I'm still so heartbroken right now. Forgive me if I don't upload often within the next few days. Or maybe I will, just to keep my mind on other things. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to look at my pictures. ♥

The story of this little dog entering our lives is bittersweet. My sister Jake had a previous dog named Delilah, a sweet loving dog to the family but extremely protective...long story short she attacked one of our other dogs, Bella, we had no choice but to put her down as much as it hurt. Jake was heartbroken, so to make it a little easier this Christmas we surprised her with this ball of fire

So they say that these old New England homes have character AND a ❤️. Well there is proof of that at The Hearthside House if you stay late enough to see it. No, this is not photoshoped...the heart is really there.

This is what is surprises you in the attic of the House. The door you see lead to a portico that was torn down during the Hurricane of 1938.

The backstory of the house is that Stephen Smith built the house around 1810 to impress his beloved. She rejected the house and he in turn was heartbroken. He never moved into the house or got married.

His heart may have been broken but the home survived and is a living museum to this day.

The Old Ferry Boat Inn , Holywell, Huntingdonshire.

The Old Ferryboat Inn in Holywell claims to be the oldest pub in England, as many pubs do. It was established in 560 so whether it really is the oldest or not, it is certainly very old indeed.

The Inn is supposedly home to the ghost of a young girl whose grave lies in the bar. All manner of unusual happenings are attributed to her, including lights that won't switch off and one night a year when guests don't sleep through the night.

Juliet Tewsley was a young girl who lived in the area nearly 1,000 years ago. She was in love with a forester called Tom Zoul, but, the story goes, he did not love her back. Another version suggests that they had been in love at one time, but he neglected her.

The heartbroken young woman is said to have hanged herself from a tree near the Inn – or drowned herself in the River Ouse – on March 17, in either 1050 or 1078. She was buried in the unhallowed ground close to the Inn and her grave was marked with a simple stone slab.

Had to prove I didn't PS the moose in my last shot. : )

Plus... This made a great natural frame. I was going to crop it different, but I had to get her "dainty" hoof in there for Sara. :-P

Assignment 2: "The natural frame .One of the best techniques for adding interest to an image is to have your subject framed by something on the edge of the image. Everyone read that again. Your subject must be framed. I'll be heartbroken and harsh with critique if we get any pictures of a wonderful frame with no subject. tag with cwd112
