The non-HDR sunset was pretty amazing in itself, but I couldn't get over how fiery this looked! The only thing I don't love is the noise (?) you can see clearly on the buildings and trees. I'm not sure if that's a result of the camera or the HDR program, but I notice it only in lower light situations, like pictures of sunsets or at dusk. Anything I can do to make it go away?
My HDR tutorial is now ready please have a look Tutorial
As HDR is getting more popular among technology driven devices, photography is one of the originals to use this technique for enhancing the available colors. This is Chicago Skyline from the famous Willis Tower Observatory. Note: This is a not full scale HDR but tone-mapped version. As a result very similar to original HDR "High Dynamic Range"

Using multiple exposures for light trail shots is not only a time saver, but also increases the intensity of the trails. I spent a half hour on the overpass, and of the 18 shots i took. Only two had light trails on both sides of the highway.
By using multiple exposures, I can use one exposure for the red trails, one for the white trails, the third shot I waited for more cars to come from behind me to increase the intensity of the red trails.

Uptown Shopping Centre is Victoria's newest mall, and soon to be the largest mall on Vancouver Island. The buildings in this shot are of the first phase of the mall. Which includes a Wal-mart Supercenter (the largest in Canada), Best Buy, and a Future Shop as the anchor tenants. The next phase will include a "town square," and the majority of the mall's smaller stores and restaurants. Which have yet to be announced.
The mall was a much needed replacement for the old 1960's strip mall that was previously there. All the buildings in this shot were formally a giant surface parking lot. I'm glad to see the space being fully utilized.

This is my first shot of 2011. Still sounds weird to say, doesn't it? I have been waiting for over a year to take this shot. I just had to wait until the buildings were complete. I'm sorry if I didn't get back to you over the last couple of days. I am going though my entire friend's list right now. looking forward to seeing your first shots of the year. =)
The above image was taken on Saturday 9th May 2015 of Chester Cathedral. I thought I would continue to test out the new features of Lightroom 6/CC and this image makes use of the new HDR / Panorama features. To help with capturing this image I used a Nodal Ninja 3 MKII tripod accessory to ensure that the different images captured for the panorama shot lined up.

Nat King Cole is playing out of the speakers in Burger King in Bilbao. We are here because I had a ravenous craving for an unhealthy burger and a dodgy coffee – both cravings have been satisfied.
I burned some of those unwanted calories chasing a pigeon out of the building 5 minutes ago.
We’re waiting for night to descend. Since we are currently blanketed with thick clouds that intermittently spit out spots of rain, there’s little in the way of advantageous light. I’m hoping nighttime will bring about a beneficial change in light so that I can capture the very curious Guggenheim Museum. I’m not holding out much hope.
The bad weather has forced us to change our plans. Portugal, our next destination, is experiencing heavy rain, as is much of Spain. In fact, the only place that seems to be less affected is Valencia. Tomorrow morning, therefore, we will drive there and stay for 2 days. We are literally chasing the good weather.
Having been to Valencia a few times before, I already have some ideas in mind in terms of photography spots.
One evening six years ago, after spending four days at a Spanish music festival, I played football in the plaza of the old Quarter with 20 odd strangers at 2:00am. A Frenchmen and I sat in midfield and did a good job of securing victory. Almost all of us were strangers to each other. The atmosphere was positive and temperature hot. A gentlemen with a wooden cart brought us cold beers which we enjoyed after the match.
2 years later Rachel and I sat at the terrace of a restaurant at that plaza and drank until the wee hours of the morning. With fond memories, we’re looking forward to returning.
Today’s Photo – The village rooftops
Waiting for the sun to set at Le Mont St Michel, I lent against a wall to have a drink. I noticed this very curious spot. Without setting up my tripod, I rested the camera on the wall and took the shot.
The processing involved 3 exposures (-2 0 +2), processed in Photomatix, tidied up in Photoshop and Nik Color Efex. I used luminance masks to make specific contrast adjustments to the mid-tones and brights specifically.

a B&B and this is their blurb . : Our 1910 character home is situated in a garden setting, six blocks east of the Empress Hotel and the Inner Harbour, and two blocks from Beacon Hill Park, in a residential neighbourhood. The house has seen an extensive and award winning renovation in the late 1970's and still being upgraded regularly.
