I was in desperate search mode as I looked for a foreground for the late afternoon sky. I found this small building just a couple of minutes before the light was gone.

I went to check out the sunset tonight. It was nothing special but while processing decided to add a bit of punch to this ghosted version.
See version B for a more realistic look
Have a great night everyone
This do not look how it was BUT the hdr really makes it more dramatic. It's been a while that a HDR is good, often they dont have anything more then normal.
Went hiking for two days and took my camera with me. This part of the Austrian Alps isn't that far away from where I live in Germany and it's really beautiful, too.

I took an 80 mile detour to get to Palouse Falls after my stop in Spokane. It is really basically located out in the middle of nowhere. You drive on a gravely road and then get to park right above this amazing natural wonder. The height of the waterfall is about 180 feet and the height of the cliff I am standing on is about 377' above the pool of water. The foamy white look in the middle of the pool is formed from the minerals that are present in the water, almost like a soapy residue. This was really apparent on the back side of the falls where you look at the river and can see the residue lining the coulee walls.
Standard three exposure +2,0,-2, on my tripod (which was very close to tumbling over the cliff!), and then merged in Potomatix, and some PP in Lightroom 2 and Photoshop for the artistic effects. Do you guys like the artistic effects? I am still playing around and learning these new tools. I am trying to approach each photo, not just as a photo, but as a work of art. Would you hang a 40"X60" canvas print of this above your fireplace?
As always, I appreciate your views, comments and faves. I am working to catch up on all of your photo streams, so thank you for your patience.

This is part of my Macau photography practice trip exercise.
My assignment is to take photos in a junk yard. There are tyres, car seats, and car sandwiches all over there. I spotted a 'new arrival' and decided to give her a colorful final shot.
Taken by Canon EOS 5D Mark II with EF 17-40mm f4L lens with tripod. Took three different expsoures. RAW file processed by Photoshop CS5 HDR Pro to TIF, then processed by Lightroom 3 'Direct Positive' preset.

Finding landscape shooting very tricky and challenging with large variations in light across the image I feel I can only do HDR to bring out the details. Hats off to all those landscape photographers as seascapes are loads easier. Sky seems to be more yellow on Flickr as was more orange on my PC..
