Brief comments: Very happy with this photo, the clouds are painted orange as the sun creeps over the hill behind. 4:30am wake up plus an hour and a bit of driving was definately worth it.

Kit: Canon 600d, 18-55mm, UV + Polarizer.

I tried using photomatix this time, and I think it came out a lot better than my efforts in photoshop. Still not great, but it's a start I think.

4th try @ HDR. Tried out Artizen this time instead of Photomatix. Photomatix is pretty slick, but Artizen seemed to keep up. Might end up purchasing Artizen instead just because the price-point is half the cost of Photomatix. Artizen seems a little slower, but I can't be sure about that. used Photomatix yesterday and Artizen today, so my memory might be off in that regard.

Tried Artizen this morning on my 5760 and it error'd out. Tried the same three RAW files here @ work on my Dell 9300 and it worked just fine. Haven't tried Photomatix on the 5760 yet.

Update: A bit more playing around and I think I like Photomatix a lot more than I do Artizen. Photomatix runs smoother whereas Artizen likes to choke up my system. Sure, I've got a billion things running (perpetual and incorrigible multi-tasker), but if Photomatix can run w/ ev'thing else going, then Artizen should be able to, also.

So far, I think I'm liking the results from Photomatix better, too. M

A grouping of bamboo growing on the side of Lake Virginia in Florida gives an oriental feel to this section of the lake. The lake is adjacent to a college and I can imagine coming down here to study where the zen like feel of the bamboo makes it peaceful and quiet. This is an HDR working photo.

I don't know if I can call the processing of this picture HDR

I just read about HDR imaging and read about Photomatix Pro. I decided to take bracketed photos of this building across my office. It has strong highlighs area (the building itself) as well has deep shadows (the areas of the fountain that are in shade). I'm pleased with my output. I hope you'll like it too. Please comment on this attempt of mine.

The water has got a bit mangled, I'll have another go at this.
