Travel Diary Day 14

(Travel Blog - strange-lands.com/daily/2012/07/26/a-modern-building-on-m...)

As sweat stained the fronts of my pants, I wondered why I still hadn’t acclimatised to hot weather after 5 months in Indonesia, and why I wear pants that look drenched every time I go for a walk.

Our second day in Singapore hasn’t dampened my enthusiasm for this place. It’s an amazing hub of energy and modernity. Most modern day travellers seek out the old while attempting to shun the new.

I love modern technology. I feel excited when I arrive at a beautiful mall lined with cozy coffee shops and restaurants. I can’t stop snapping at amazing feats of architecture, like the Petronas Towers.

Today we explored Changi Boardwalk and the sparse Singapore coastline. It was beautifully developed. Fishermen, joggers, and people on picnics enjoyed the afternoon sun. I wasn’t too keen on the sun, but the walk was lovely.

We spoke again today about how much we’d love to live in a city like this – it wouldn’t be a bad life.

This is a photo of Marina Bay Sands Singapore HDR travel photo after meeting for a photo-walk with local photographers.

Shot with Canon EF-S 18-200mm, 3 RAW files, editted in Photomatix, Photoshop and Lightroom. Took this picture facing the sun after reading this is something you actually can do when creating HDR's.

A redo of an earlier shot from a different bridge over I-90/94. The Light trails were taken off a 2 sec exposure.

Having just upgraded my version of Photomatix Pro 5.1.3 to Version 6.1, I have reprocessed this one, primarily to see how good the new version is.

Created using 5 shots from -2 to +2 stops exposure.

The aeronautical factory Caproni in Predappio is an architectural complex consisting of a series of buildings arranged along the watershed of a narrow gorge surrounded by hills of the territory from New Predappio. Incorporating two existing twin buildings belonging to the company Zolfi, that extracted from the hill material, in 1933 work began on the lower part of the complex.

3 Image Tone Mapped HDR. Edited from RAW using 3 images in CS6 & Photomatix Pro

This is my first attempt at an HDR image. I used Photomatix to merge 3 images together. Much easier than I thought it would be and it seems like the options are endless. Also seems very useful in saving images that are not well exposed. Lots of fun to come.

These photo's where a set of five photo's compiled in Photomatix Pro 3.

HDR-3 and HDR-3A where taken at Portencross, and both photo's were compiled with slightly different settings.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking and compiling them.

Foto bastante laboriosa y al final me queda la marca de agua del programita dichoso. A ver quien me da la clave, gracias. Saludos
