"The Haystack has a few rock routes on its southern and eastern flanks, and on the north side, there is a route to the top that can be scrambled. The summit scramble is not for everyone. This can’t be stressed enough. A fall off of the Haystack is going to be an uncontrolled fall."

Another shot taken in the picturesque region from Buzau county where my grandparents grew up - Chiojd.
More of the Oregon Coast from my earlier trip. This is Haystack Rock, just south of Tillimook, presumably named because it's a rock that's been made of Hay!

I use Capture NX2 for my RAW editing and Color Efex in Photoshop for any filters that I need to apply. Capture NX2 color points to enhance the sky. In photoshop I applied Pro Contrast with selective points applied, Film Effects-Kodak Ultra Color 100 filter and finally Polaroid filter. I use Color Efex for many of my edits because I don't care to sit in front of the computer all day editing my photos and I feel that it gives me enough control to get what I want.
If I can sit on a decapitated snowman, I certainly can sit on a haystack.
Had the wrong lens on for this shot, because he was a bit restless and I had to step away a lot to get everything in the shot I wanted.
A ride looking for owls ended up with me being in front of this haystack....again. For some reason I always get drawn to it. Yes, the simplest of things make me happy. Tomorrow I'm thinking of looking for eagles.

Cannon Beach Bakery has a delicious treat called "Sailor Jacks." They are about three bites worth of deliciously sweet raisin cake, and I love them.
Has nothing to do with this picture, other than my wife and I were in Cannon Beach, and Saturday I had one Sailor Jack, and Sunday morning I had two...after which I felt nauseous...in a good way. Kind of.
