Fleetwith Pike is a fell in the English Lake District in the county of Cumbria which reaches a height of 648 metres (2,126 feet). The fell is a well-known feature of the area as it casts an imposing presence over Buttermere and the Honister Pass.

As you can see this was taken many years ago and the last time I've been to the coast.. I changed out the sky and adjusted the water and lighting with Luminar4, Then I framed it in another app called Filter Forge... Happy Sliders Sunday, Everybody!!!!!!!

While scanning the skies for tufted puffins around Haystack Rock (Cannon Beach, OR) a scene like this occurred a couple times.

An eagle showed up high above the rock, all the gulls and murres scattered, and eventually the eagle emerged with a hearty meal (murre).

Another one from that october haystack rock serie.

This locale was the farthest point reached by the Lewis and Clark Expedition in the early 1800's. They had come to see a beached whale they had heard about from the Native Americans while wintering near Astoria, Oregon..

For beauty, variety and interesting detail, for sheer fascination and unique individuality, the summit area of Haystacks is supreme. This is in fact the best fell top of them all. A place of great charm and fairyland attractiveness...one can leave all troubles behind on Haystacks

I recently drove past here, probably for the last time, as I hauled the final load of my life's belongings from my old home. I thought of making this photo in the depths of a deep, dark sickness and the extreme effort that it took just to get out of the truck and take photos.

Captured with a Nikon Z50 and a little Pergear 10mm f/8 pancake lens I keep in my small travel satchel for occasions just like this.

Haystack, hay roll, hay bale; whatever you call it, it seems to be the preferred method of handling hay in 2019.

Rialto Beach, Olympic Peninsula, Washington State.

One from the shores of Buttermere the lake surface had broken up and I was leaving when the breeze dropped again leaving the water still again and this unfolded for me.

I was amazed we had picked such a great beach to go to and it was on a whim. We were tired and decided to stop for the night. We had no prior knowledge of this beach or the rock formations. I did not even know this was Haystack Rock until I saw a postcard in Idaho!!! Talk about flying by the seat of your pants...we also got the last RV spot there!

Clouds hang over Haystack Pass in Glacier National Park, Montana. Haystack Butte rises to the right of the pass. Below the pass, Haystack Creek cascades down the mountain in step-like fashion and flows under the Going-to-the Sun Highway before it continues falling downhill. Completed in 1932, the spectacular, 50 mile long Going-to-the-Sun Road bisects Glacier National Park east to west. This view from the highway shows almost all the cascade’s 200’ fall. Notice car on the highway for scale.

This image of Cannon Beach Oregon State, USA, was captured in Oct. 2008 with an Olympus SP570. It was put together as a pano back then, but edited in Alien Skin 6 this morning.

I like this image because you can see just how huge these rocks are. The people on the beach, the grand house off to the right. Really a great place to visit if doing a road trip along the coast.

It is the other side of the image from last year which you can see if you care to have a look: www.flickr.com/photos/27872610@N05/12266953846/

Epic skies over Haystacks in the Lake District. 🌄 The dramatic clouds and soft evening light create a breathtaking scene that feels straight out of a painting. Every hike here is rewarded with views like this—pure magic!

The sun managed to break through the cloudy sky to give some rich color to enhance the Needles and Haystack rock stacks near Cannon Beach, Oregon.

Views from the unnamed tarn on Haystacks summit with Crummock water distant centre and high-crag at 2442ft dominating the scene. There is a fellow walker in the picture can you spot him ?

Cannon Beach on the Oregon coast is a special place with this amazing group of sea stacks!

This particular early morning had sea mist that was burning off when I captured this image - but some of that magic remained!

The largest sea stack you see is known as Haystack Rock, and is a haven for a multitude of birds - if you zoom in, you can see it dotted with white gulls, and a few flying above it.

This area also has many tide pools, which is critical habitat for plants and animals such as star fish, crabs - you never know what you'll see lurking there!

Visit if you get the chance!
