Durian
The unique and pungent smell of fresh Durian.
Love it...or hate it.
Widely known and revered in southeast Asia as the "king of fruits", the durian is distinctive for its large size, unique odour, and formidable thorn-covered husk.
The edible flesh emits a distinctive odor, strong and penetrating even when the husk is intact. Some people regard the durian as fragrant; others find the aroma overpowering and offensive. The smell evokes reactions from deep appreciation to intense disgust, and has been described variously as almonds, rotten onions, turpentine and gym socks. The odor has led to the fruit's banishment from certain hotels and public transportation in southeast Asia.

I read the news today
And everything they say
Just makes me want to stay inside and wait
Better part of me knows
That waiting in the throws
Is on par with reading with my eyes closed
"What Can I do?", You say
"It's just another day
In the life of Apes with ego trips"
Put down your hollow tips
to kiss your lover's lips
And know that fate is what you make of it

I hate chipped nailpolish on both hands and feet. I could never do that whole emo black nailpolish thing because it would drive me bonkers. Just looking at this picture is making me upset. I had painted my toes shortly before my friend had come into town but after a day at the beach and then getting swept around at a waterpark my nails took a beating.
Seriously, looking at this picture makes me gag. This is also the reason why I don't put anything on my finger nails brighter or darker than clear nailpolish. I know I don't have the time for touchups and trying to keep my polish from looking like Avril Lavigne's keeps me from putting color on my hands. So clear it is.
The Challenge: Take one self portrait each day for a year.
The main thing is that you are both the photographer and the subject. For the purposes of this group, any photo which you took that contains any part of your body counts. You can use tripods, timers, or whatever else you need just as long as you take a photo yourself.
Year 2 of the 365 Days Project
Today’s Flickr Group Roulette challenge features the Alphabet of Life group. So, I was pretty desperate for a shave & thought “why not kill two birds with one stone”. In case you all haven’t noticed I really hate to shave. However, I really, really hate that scratchyiness where my chin meets my neck even more.

On a completely off topic note, my wife was interviewed and quoted in a Seattle PI article; regarding how “Project Runway” is rejuvenating the sewing and craft industry.
Day One-hundred-and-twenty-seven ...
So as a nation it would appear that we're pretty indecisive when it comes to politics. Hence waking up this morning to the predicted Hung Parliament (wow, I've been so topical the past two days I even scare myself!!)
The thing is, when it comes to some things *other* than politics it's MUCH more clear cut. Ask us Brits who we're going to vote for and we'll ummm and ahhh a lot. Ask us Brits about Marmite - well NOW you're talking decisiveness!
Marmite ... you either love it or you hate it ;)
April 7, 2012
I spent the afternoon and evening hanging out at my sister's house, where we made Easter cookies, drank beer, ate pizza, and painted our nails with polka dots. Since my brother lives around the corner from my sister's new house, he hung out too. We haven't had a solid sibling day in a long time, and it was long overdue.
I picked this stuff up on my last trip to the UK. It's horrible, imagine what canned cat food must taste like soaked in salt with the consistency of honey and you've just about got it. Although I made some veggie Irish stew tonight and the recipe called for 2 teaspoons of Marmite. The stew came out pretty damn good so my bottle of Marmite has thus been saved from an intentional drowning in the Hudson River.
View On Black • I'm so bad with the camera today. It's one of those days where I'd seriously throw my camera as far as I can... I just don't get flash photography. I don't get lighting, I don't understand a thing, I'm frustrated and I hate it. HATE IT!!! ;(
I need to still work on the black and white.
I catch that vignetting too that I'm trying to get rid of as well.
It's a work in process, but...this was taken at my place, with two shop lights and a flash.
Working, Working, Working....
one of my favorite songs, on my favorite album, of the year it came out...I think it was last...
