I kind of hate this. Blah. That's all I have to say about that.
For FGRs Uncluttered challenge.
And Theme of the Week's elements challenge. Wind. Really.

I won't shiver in the cold

yayyy my first time cloud snapshot.........thankyou to Ahmed W Khan - [AkS] for the help
It gets a bad rap...but it can be really tasty if you have a good recipe and age the cake. Luv muh frrrootcake.
Marmite (on toast), my breakfast staple from childhood, thru adulthood, up to this morning's MM. Muesli makes a showing simply to add scale for those unacquainted with the packaging of this distinctively flavoured, you'll "Love it or Hate it", yeast extract spread😋.
We're Here! : I hate it when that happens

I'm going on holiday for a while.
See you when I get back.

Tomorrow 26/1/2012 is Australia Day! The official National Day for Australia.
So I wanted to post something Aussie.
Vegemite is a dark brown Australian food paste made from yeast extract. It is a nutritious product very rich in Vit B. The most popular way to eat it is to spread it on toast.
It's an acquired taste, you either love it or hate it.
Vegemite is uniquely Australian and a fair dinkum Aussie icon with 90% of Aussies having a jar in their pantry!
How can I believe when this cloud hangs over me
You're the part of me that I don't wanna see
Another one of them days, where...yeah, I'm probably not as happy as I could be.
I got a Flickrmail the other day, a complete stranger just letting me know that of all my photography projects that this current one feels the most "real".
I have to say, I'm both flattered and humbled by that.
My life is real. It feels real.
So much has happened.....so much has rocked my world.
Honestly, I'd almost rather I wasn't an open book right now. But, it is what it is.
My photography, though nowhere near where I want it to be, at least is reflecting my inner turmoil/emotion. It's been..disappointing to me though.
Shit happens, right?
I guess, it does.
Okay, so yet again I apologize for posting what I see as...half ass crap....but hey, it's real.
Maybe tomorrow, something better.
Everyday...maybe something better......

...and this is how durian looks like on the inside. Its flesh suppose to be much firmer, unfortunately, all the imported durain from South East Asia are frozen and that destroy its firm texture.
Click here to see durian from the outside.
I know this particular photo doesn't look very appealing but from my own and many of my friends' experience, this is one of the best thing that ever happened to our taste bud.

Marmite - Love it or Hate it?
A deadly trap.
Is it worth losing fingers over? :-)
Do you love it enough to take a chance? Haha
Love it or Hate it ...Traditional Marmite.
Taken for "7 Days of Shooting" "Week#32" "Yellow" "Traditional Thursday"
I have to say that I HATE doing a self-portrait! Ken was sitting at the desk while I tried this today so it was awful to keep a straight face! Jeans, a t-shirt and a fur!! :) I liked this shot out of trying SO many and almost cut my head off here! What DOES that say?! LOL!
I give up. I've been trying to maintain short hair for a while now and I just despise it. I really did give it a fair go. Back to the other end of the pendulum. Happy New Year :-D
Marmite Peanut Butter - Love It!
A new variation of Marmite hit the shelves last week.
Marmite Crunchy Peanut Butter.
Love it or Hate it - it's flying off the shelves.
Marmite and Molasses Savoury Bread.
Home made savoury mini-loaves made with Marmite, molasses and multi-grain flour for a family get together.
Absolutely scrummy - if you like Marmite!
Love it or hate it!
Week 05/52 of 52 Weeks: The Tilt & Shift Effect.
Who can resist hot buttered toast with Marmite on it for breakfast? LOL.
Eat it whilst it's hot - it's rude not to.
Love it or hate it - I know it divides our household.
I wonder how long it would take me to eat a lorry load of Marmite...................................................

A fellow flickr member, Van Man 1 suggested I try Marmite on hot bacon.
It sounded good and I just had to try it.
A cold windy morning - what could be better than a hot bacon bap and a steaming cup of tea?
It was delicious.
Love it or hate it - I know it divides our household.
One good thing about this savoury snack - if I leave it on the worktop my wife won't nick it or take a bite of it - she hates it!!!
I hate having to stress about money. I'd say I hate money, but I really would love to have some more of it. I'd really love to not have to freak out the last week of every. damn. month. worrying if we will get paid in time for the mortgage to get paid; for groceries and gas to be purchased.
I know I have to make some changes. I also know that I chose to be at home due to a job that was killing me in every way, and that my husband and I choose to try and make working from home actually work. The problem is, we clearly aren't very good at it. We both have lots of ideas, sure, but not much follow-through.
I woke up this morning in a panic. I had nightmares about the show coming up because I'm stressing over my final images and getting them printed and framed in time. I have to order prints today or tomorrow and then, when drinking my coffee and realizing we were almost out and couldn't go grocery shopping yet, that meant I couldn't order prints yet either. I freaked. I whined online, of course. And people helped...emails, sympathy, and in two cases, some actual money donations (which WILL be passed on in karmic retribution when I am more stable)! I was humbled by that.
I'm always doing some juggling. But we have to take the dogs to a vet (we are taking them to the Pennsylvania SPCA which costs half of what the local vet would cost), I have to take the kid to a specialist, I have to order my prints and we have to, you know...eat! I am lucky in that my parents are not only around and incredibly supportive and loving, but also willing and able to help financially. I'm so tired of needing that, though.
This is no great fix, but we have had some things piling up that I wanted to list for sale on Craig's List (if you are not American and don't have this, then I'm ever so sorry, because it is awesome), so today I finally photographed everything and put up listings. It can only help. My daughter's ice hockey gear, which hasn't been used in 3 years, and a gorgeous soft leather motorcycle jacket an ex bought me who rode. I haven't worn it since he dumped me almost 6 years ago.
This photo is a closeup of the button on a vintage Chanel Boutique houndstooth coat that was my grandmother's. I have not listed it yet as I'm not sure what to sell it for...I feel awful selling it because it was hers, but it doesn't really fit me right (the sleeves are too short). When I tried to find some info online, I was blown away at seeing Chanel jackets and suits going for thousands of dollars! Is that possible?? They were used, too! And this has the original buttons and is in perfect condition. Anyone with insight, do tell...I am clueless when it comes to fashion and even more clueless when it comes to designer labels and what they mean.
So it is time to get more serious about finding new clients for myself; to get creative in what I offer with photography. I know my friend John is rolling his eyes at me right now, as he's been yelling at me for months to do just that.
For some of you who may wonder what this thing is. It's a tropical fruit called Durian. It is a popular fruit in Southeast Asia and referred to as "King of Fruits" for its intensity in taste and odour (or aroma for durian lovers).
In Thailand where I grew up, Durian comes in many different varieties and is usually sold fresh with stem, but you can only buy it frozen (which destroy most of its wonderful texture) in the US, even in New York City.
You either LOVE it or HATE it (with passion). There is no other way around.
If you wonder what it looks like on the inside, I'll post the shot soon.
