I. HATE. MY. F***ING. COMPUTER.

There. That's what I hate. Because my computer failed to function for, let's see, about an HOUR, I was unable to get my entry for the Round 1 Pullip Photo Challenge on Dolly Market.

So here it is. The theme - because Valentine's Day is supposed to be all lovey-dovey - was Hate.

I was extremely crushed and in tears - and a runny nose, which for some reason lasted longer - upon finding out that my photo didn't make it by only 20 flipping minutes. Who knows if I'll ever attempt to participate in a photo contest again. Anyway, I hope you guys like the photo.

My Eos, Soenya, has a clear hatred of Namus. Haha.

This week is the forth-annual Greater Manchester’s Hate Crime Awareness Week, raising awareness for victims and support groups.

We work with partners and stakeholders to engage with and support victims of hate crime, helping them to rebuild their lives after an incident.

The week began with a launch at Manchester Art Gallery. This event was organised by Manchester City Council and the office of the Greater Manchester’s Police and Crime Commissioner. Adrian Derbyshire, a former international wheelchair fencer, supported the launch.

There are events across the region throughout the week with the launch of two new reporting centres in Oldham and engagement events for our communities across the region.

The week will also see a new transgender hate crime report being published to help shape our services in the years to come.

Here in Manchester we take action against six types of hate crime – race, religion, transgender identity, sexuality, disability and alternative subculture. We will simply not tolerate any kind of discrimination or prejudice on the streets of Greater Manchester.

Together, let’s end hate crime.

For more information about Policing in Greater Manchester please visit our website. www.gmp.police.uk

To report crime call police on 101 the national non-emergency number.

You can also call anonymously with information about crime to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Crimestoppers is an independent charity who will not want your name, just your information. Your call will not be traced or recorded and you do not have to go to court or give a statement.

Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim + Redscaled Konica Minolta VX Super 200 + Double Exposure.

Experimenting with Redscale again - moving from the blunt application of that banging colour, to explore other possibilities beyond that...The first roll was shot almost exclusively along the environs of Stokes Croft, Cheltenham Road & Gloucester Road and mostly graffiti. The intention of the second roll was to find mainstream advertising or images from more affluent areas of the city, or more pastoral/non urban environments. I did not line up the film, nor take notes, nor plan beyond striving for the principle of contrasting subjects. The negatives were returned uncut as requested, but I did get lab scans - any overlaps of one frame over another, are a result of this. I have cropped where I feel it is most helpful to do so, so any inclusion of frame overlap is these uploaded images has been an active choice. I will almost certainly return to the negs with a home scanner to search for alternative compositions to complement these.

In some cases I have found the results quite 'dark' and unsettling in mood - quite a refreshing departure for my stream. I plan to explore this some more.

Redscaling.

Basically it involves taking a roll of ordinary 'bog standard' print film, reversing it and respooling it into another film canister (all done in a dark bag) so that the light is exposed on 'the wrong side of the film' when you take a shot. You then lose two 'stops' on the optimal exposure conditions from the original. It gets developed in exactly the same way as print film, but be prepared for the technician to be a little startled (at best) or a little irritated (at worst) when they realise that something very odd has happened to the film. :)

These two mostly love each other, but three times now, something has set them off, and they have gotten into an all-out brawl.

Yesterday, I was dumb enough to try to grab their collars and separate them and got a horrible bite on my hand :( I had to get a Tetanus shot and antibiotics.

I'm not really sure what is going to happen, but it makes me sad and angry that we can't work it out. Yesterday's fight had nothing to do with food or attention. One dog was in, the other was out. I let the one that was out come back in, she ran over to see what the other was doing, and BAM. I had to pour a liter of water on their heads to get them to stop. It was stressful, and my poor kids were trying to be so helpful, but not really knowing what to do.

I'm not sure what hurts worse, the puncture wounds on my hand or my upper arm from the Tetanus shot!

I recently paid a visit to Fred Phelps Westboro Baptist Church compound in Topeka, KS with a picket sign given to me by the cast of "Jesus Christ King of Comedy at the Kansas City Fringe Festival."

As a liberal Kansan I consider Phelps to be a major embarassment to our wonderful state, and hope the rest of the world realizes most Kansans are appalled by his message and behavior.

The infamous Phelps founder and minister of the church is known throughout the world for his message of hatred toward homosexuals and his signature catch phrase "God Hates Fags." He believes many recent natural disasters are God's punishment for those with liberal attitudes with regard to homosexuality.

He, his family and followers frequently picket military funerals to spread the word that "God Hates America" and soldiers are dying due to the acceptance of gays in the military. Their actions prompted the federal and numerous state legislators to pass laws restricting demonstrations at funerals.

No news about Trump is ever good, but Trump revealed a chilling side of himself when he met with the Washington Post's editorial board on March 21, 2016.

He confirmed what I've suspected, which is that he would much rather people stop asking him questions about his policies and leave him alone to do what he wants to do in secrecy.

TRUMP: "But—and honestly, you know part of—I always say we have to be unpredictable. We’re totally predictable. And predictable is bad. Sitting at a meeting like this and explaining my views and if I do become president, I have these views that are down for the other side to look at, you know. I hate being so open."

It seems Trump wants to join the ranks of Nixon, Kissinger and Cheney in his disrespect for openness in government. While Trump appeared to talking about foreign policy (with him you're never sure what topic he's on), it's reasonable to assume that he's giving voice to his businessman's instincts that he'd follow in all other areas of his presidency .

I've included a link to the entire interview. First, you'll see the above quote in context and can decide for yourself whether or not you agree with my take on it. (In the interview Trump also goes on at length about all the supposed "hatred" the media is directing at him, when in fact he can't stand having his own words quoted back at him, particularly whey they're the basis of editorial opinions.)

Also, Trump's performance at the meeting shows better than anything else I've come across what a shallow, vain, ignorant narcissist this man really is.

www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-partisan/wp/2016/03/21/...

Finally (for now), for the first time I find myself agreeing with the NY Times' Ross Dothat. Trump's authoritarianism one of Dothat's principal reasons for opposing Trump. When I read the Spanish-language media's coverage of South American politics, I find little mention of political parties. There, politics revolve around strong men (or women). In Venezuela, it's Chavismo. In Argentina it's Kirscherismo. Peru still has (amazingly) Fujimorismo.

What we see with Trump's ascendancy is the devolution of American politics and the rise of a strong man. Trumpismo may have eclipsed the Republican party.

Preparing to head home after a week in Capitol Reef NP doing a little volunteering. But as much as I hate to leave, I know my wife is waiting for me back in Kansas. She is really great letting me take off on adventures like this even though I am gone during our wedding anniversary.

Star Wars Black Series - Darth Vader (Duel's End)

I've long struggled with smoking. One day loving the smell of tobacco or a morning cigarette with coffee or smoking on the side of the road after a long motorcycle trip, and later being a non-smoker hating the stench of stale smoke on people next to me in the elevator. I can't think of anything else that repulses and attracts me as much as cigarettes do.

Mowgli Hates Diapers

Created/Modified: Friday, December 14, 2007, 6:35:25 PM

An alteration of “Blah Censorship!” dtwx.deviantart.com/art/CENSORSHIP-62854238 but this time drawn as Mowgli as He was SUPPOSED to be as intended by the Author.

What really baffled me as a child watching the Disney version of ‘The Jungle Book’ is where in God’s Green Earth did Mowgli get those tacky red underpants from?

Did he get them from some abandoned Men’s Warehouse around there? Do ANY of the woodland creatures even sense that he is in his Neutral Form? It’s really stupid, if you stop to think about it. I don’t wanna say “Naked” cuz animals don’t understand that word.

I purchased “The Jungle Book: Platinum Edition” for my mom (:D) and after seeing the film and the Documentaries, I can certainly understand the flaws that were between the movie and the original novel, and the fact as to why some of the relatives of Kipling were outraged at Walt for the inaccuracies that were depicted in the feature. Such as the fact that “Mowgli” was pronounced “MAW-Glee” and not “MOW-Glee”. The spelling is written the same, but the pronunciation is different, because it was an Indianan term.

Of course I’ve always been a fan of Wild Childs, and having them dressed in tattered clothes and rags does add a sense of style and coolness about them. And on the other hand, having them in a state of undress adds a Definitive State of Savagery because they lack any aspect of civilian recognition, or knowledge of the Force. :jedi: ;p

One thing about Mowgli from the novel is that his whole body is uncovered, wearing nothing, which was Important by the Author because it symbolized his reputation of the Jungle, and the visage of his own Humanity. Live action shows can do whatever they want with his appearance, but when it comes to Hand Drawn techniques it’s best just to leave him in His Original Human Form. Bodies are not Evil, if you stop to think about it.

Here are some Great Artwork Links that further explore the Intended Kipling Novel:

Haters make me famous!

"Cuộc sống như 1 tấm gương, nếu bạn biết mỉm cười với nó, thì nó cũng sẽ mỉm cười với bạn" (Nah)

"Mày thấy tao tỏa sáng nên mày rất ghét tao

Thích soi mói và tưởng tượng để bốc phét sao

Nhưng tao vẫn mặc kệ và getting the paper

Phương châm làm việc của tao là ignore the haters" (Nah)

One of my FLICKR friends got an unbelievable message:

www.flickr.com/photos/salvadordeluniverso/6520422891/in/p...

Well, more an assault than a message. I won't tolerate any affronts or harassment, especially not in our FLICKR community.

Due to this incident we started this tag.

I'm so sad and angry! Why are there always folks that never learn? What's wrong with people, what makes them behave like this?

But to see the reactions of many other FLICKR-members relieves me deeply!

Haters, try some understanding and acceptance and solve your own problems. Try to get help! It will make living your life much more easier.
