Using my keychain LED I spelled out Hate which by magical chance is reflected in the mirror as its opposite, LOVE.
I did this one myself through trial and error. I'd love to take full credit for this idea, but I'd hate not to tell I based it on this cool tshirt pattern.
This is one of many custom motorcycles that was on display for a contest for best motorcycle builder.

i've had it with this headache.
i've had it with this heat, already.
i've had it with pain.
i've had it with things that keep breaking, ipods, laptops, cameras, bones.
i've had it with my still-healing, overly-scarred, already-fading tattoo.
i've had it with fear.
and here's the kicker.
all the right things, i tell myself daily:
it'lll get better.
it's cyclical.
just ride it out.
don't give up.
the tat can get retouched.
it's ok.
funny thing, depression.
how you can know all these things to be true,
and yet you sit there regardless in your squeaking office chair
numb as driftwood,
drifting.
wanting.
needing.
hating yourself for the drifting, the wanting, the needing,
cradling the ball of self-pitying angst in your belly
like a baby bird,
feeding it worms and chocolate
instead of starving it.
why?
because it's what you know.
even though you also know
what you should do
is kick it out of the nest
and watch it die.
so instead i get up. i take the excedrin. i eat a bowl of cereal. i put the camera on the tripod. i cut the new shade to size. i vaccuum. i do the dishes. i go to the store. i feed the cats. i water the flowers. i wash myself. i eat a sandwich. i make up the guest bed for pappas. i take a stronger headache pill. i nap. i eat dinner. i go to bed.

Shot 25 of 31 in B&W October Project
Sooooo close. My goal is to have these done before obviously not posting this weekend.
I won't hate on this one like I did my attempt at symmetry. I'm actually pretty happy with the result and am psyched what the square crop did. Shooting at 10mm then doing a 1x1 can make that depth of field seemingly last for miles. This is a decent sized cove and I was backed up to the end of the point (watching for the big, unexpected set to take me, or worse, my gear, out of commission). I love Big Sur and all I've seen up North.... but I can't stay away from Montana de Oro State Park. This stretch of about 6 miles of coast has become my favorite area in California. The weather is almost always pretty extreme, and to catch a good sunset is rare...but when you do...it just doesn't get better.
This was shot a few months back and I've been waiting to get after it as a B&W.
I'd love feedback here. I like the spot so much and am so close to the shot I'm sure I missed some details in post..

On Saturday October 18, 2014, I joined around 90,000 people for "Britain Needs A Pay Rise," a march and rally in London organised by the TUC (Trades Union Congress) to highlight the growing inequality in the UK, and to call for an increase in pay for those who are not in the top 10% of earners, who, it was recently revealed, now control 54.1% of the country's wealth. The London march began on Victoria Embankment and proceeded to Hyde Park, where there was a rally, and where I photographed this woman with her excellent "Still Hate Thatcher" T-shirt, which, she said, she got at a feminist conference.
As I explained in an article before the protest, I was "extremely glad to see the TUC putting together a major protest, as it is exactly two years since the last major TUC-organised protest, 'A Future That Works'. Prior to that, there was the 'March for the Alternative' in March 2011."
As I also explained, "I must admit to being extremely disappointed that the unions have not organised massive anti-austerity protests every six months against the butchers of the Tory-led coalition government, who continue with their efforts to destroy almost every aspect of the British state, privatising almost everything that was not privatised by Margaret Thatcher, John Major, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, and to hand it all over to unaccountable profiteers -- with the exception of their own jobs, and their lavish expenses, and, presumably, parts of the judiciary, the military and the intelligence services."

I have kind of a love hate relationship with this stupid game on my phone. Hate cause when I give it a sound beating in one game it will turn around and give me crap for letters on the next, such as this with no vowels. Love cause the childish things I find hilarious. I'm quite certain I'll never grow up.
La Flèche Wallonne aka "The Walloon Arrow" is the first of the two Belgian Ardennes classics.

BERNARD HINAULT (1954), nicknamed "le blaireau" or "the badger", is a French former road bicycle racer.
Hinault is undoubtedly one of the strongest and most versatile riders in history. He was the best time trialist of his generation and could beat the specialists uphill and even in the sprint.
His versatility is evidenced by the number of Grand Tours and cycling classics in which he triumphed. After Jacques Anquetil and Eddy Merckx, Hinault was the third rider to win the Tour de France five times. This achievement was subsequently matched only by Miguel Indurain. And... surpassed by Lance Armstrong with seven wins....
In addition, Hinault won the Tour of Italy three times and the Tour of Spain twice. Hinault is also one of the few riders to win the Tour of Italy and France in one season. He even did that twice, in 1982 and in 1985.
His name appears several times on the roll of honor of the Walloon Arrow, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and the Tour of Lombardy. Hinault hated the cobblestones of Paris-Roubaix, but he also triumphed in that prestigious race in 1981.
