You may notice at the beginning of the clip a cobweb below the camera, which with the movement of the birds proved to obscure future filming. How to remedy? One of those long thin soft 'behind the radiator' brushes proved useful, except it moved the camera offline! Much waiting for parents to go off foraging and one of us putting the brush in the entrance and moving to the instructions of the other in the kitchen watching on the laptop was a bit fraught. Eventual success with no disturbance to the parents, chicks are still blind so worry there. So now a slightly altered view. The bright hole to the left is not an entry hole to the box but one of two additional frosted plastic light sources. Two more hatched today, although difficult to count 7 little beaks.. Doubtful whether the last egg will be incubated but it may hatch tomorrow. the latest chick can be seen in the lower left of the nest cup flicking itself into position.
I took a picture for my new baby today .I have also two baby tortoise the two tortoise they are sleeping right now but this cute one was awake and eating . :)
P.s:My Adult female tortoise she lays about 7 eggs on 29-01-2007 under the soil . on 16-06-2007 the eggs hatched
so the three hatching tortoise alive and four baby they died under the soil :'( and they not complete to this is nature and normal too .

Built by my daughter for a contest of our local LUG - from the book "Eragon". Saphira is Eragon's dragon.
Like chicks about to break out, these blossoms are nearly ready. They're the last to appear in our yard, and perhaps the most beautiful.
...all warm after the struggle to get free of the egg. They are a cross between Barred Rock and Buff Orpington.
Brainard series, working capture number three and Adam Meek asked how I repaired burned pine needles on my finished image.
1> Finish editing all the layers in a Photoshop .PSD. Flatten the layers and save as a .TIFF. This kind of an edit is difficult on more than a single layer.
2> You need to use the Color select tool under the Select pull down, Alt-S,C.
3> Select the rust color on the pine needles as I've shown in the lower-right pane above. Add extra tones by Shift-clicking more rust tones until problem tones seem mostly selected as in the palette illustration. Click OK and you should have your selection.
3-29-20 Pip 1:15:54pm
We have all been able to observe the miracle of nature while watching the hatching on SWFEC. Throughout the night the eaglet has been going through the hard process of hatching. We were able to see the first view of a pip at 7:15:48 this morning. At around 12:20pm we observed some blood in the egg around the pip area.
While we are not sure what has caused this blood we can share some information regarding the hatch. During the hatch process the chick has to switch its respiration and blood circulation. After it breaks the shell it absorbs the rest of the yolk and the blood vessels.
Blood vessels that haven't dried up yet may still attach the shell to the chick, and prematurely pulling of the shell can cause excessive bleeding. We usually do see some sign of blood inside of the egg shell after the hatch.
But I think most of us have never seen this much blood during a hatch - so it is understandable we all have questions. We can only hope that all will go well for this eaglet during the hatching process. But we would be remiss if we didnโt remind everyone that not all eaglets survive the hatch.
This information on hatching comes from from Nick Fox (Understanding the Bird of Prey, 1995) on hatching:
"About 72 hours before hatching, the egg starts an ordered sequence of events which are critical. The chick must progress from allantoic respiration to lung breathing, retract its yolk sac and hatch.
[The allantois is part of the membrane surround the embryo -- it is the mechanism of the exchange of oxygen in and carbon dioxide out until the chick's lungs begin to function just before hatch, and it collects metabolic wastes that are discarded after hatch.]
"At the time when the air cell is beginning the 'draw down' the complexis hatching muscle at the nape of the chick's neck becomes swollen with lymph and twitches spasmodically. The twitching movement extends throughout the whole body of the chick causing it to straighten briefly.
These unbending movements press the chick tight against the eggshell and force the beak upwards. On the upper ridge of the beak is the small egg tooth which eventually penetrates the inner shell membrane into the air cell. Once the beak is into the air cell, the chick is able to start breathing air into its lungs although it is still dependent on allantoic gas exchange. With its lungs in operation it is able to cheep and this is a sure sign that breathing has started.
"With continuous rebreathing, the air in the air cell becomes high in carbon dioxide and this stimulates the hatching muscle to further activity. With more faint tapping and pressure from the chick, the shell wall gives way and a slight lifting of a fragment of shell becomes visible. This is called 'starring.'
This allows a small amount of fresh air into the air space and the chick usually becomes quiet for some hours. Working sporadically, the chick then begins to break up an area around the pip and also splits the air cell membrane much further so that, on candling, it can be seen to occupy most of the air cell and is much looser inside the shell. Gradually the chick enlarges an opening and the beak and egg tooth come into view.
"The chick may rest at this point for a further twenty-four hours. During this time the lungs and airsac system are becoming fully functional and gradually take over total responsibility for gas exchange. The blood circulation in the allantois slowly shuts down.
"Once the allantois has shut down, the chick starts to rotate inside the shell. Within about fifteen minutes the chick circles about half to two-thirds around the egg, industriously cutting out the shell as it goes. Soon it is able to push up the cap with its shoulders and kick itself free of the shell, leaving the membranes and excreted uric acid waste behind.
The allantoic blood vessels quickly fall away from the navel. By one or two days after hatching the hatching muscle has reduced in size and is no longer swollen with lymph. The total time from pip to hatch in birds of prey varies considerably from about 30-70 hours but is usually complete within 50 hours."

Drawn with a Penstix 3013 0.3mm drafting pen on my Moleskine. I used an old pen and about 3/4 of the way the ink ran out. When I bought a replacement pen, the ink was darker than the old pen, which made the final drawing a little uneven. Used ruler only to trace reference lines. All pen lines were drawn free hand.
I didn't hold the egg the whole time - I just didn't have the patience to let it hatch without me seeing. I actually ended up sitting to guard the Mom from the other hens, so I kept up on the progress.Total it took about 2 hours, from first hole to no egg.
Success! I've opened four of these Yowie surprise toys, and have liked all four of the results. Kinder eggs & Choco Treasure can not boast such a satisfaction rate. All of the products' chocolate is equal, though, if-you-know-what-I-mean...
Trying to figure out what to draw for the Flickr Drawoff Round 2. For some reason I like this kind of dog. We'll see.
Sieglinde the seagull was suffering from failing eyesight. While away for a quick bite to eat, her best friends Martha and Beatrice swapped her egg for a Oberon Class Submarine.

HANDMADE
Rectangular handmade wooden craft 50 x 12 cm
I had this piece of wood and I didn't know what to do, then I came up with the idea of creating something fun. I've pyrographed three hens, one on top of the other, that are hatching eggs. The first, in the waiting, is knitting, the second is reading a book and the third is playing on the cell phone waiting for the eggs to hatch. I had a lot of fun creating it and although it took a long time the work satisfied me a lot and I hope you like it too!!!!
I put a hook to be able to attach it to the wall, you choose the room, I think it is adaptable to any room. I finished the work with a layer of transparent protective paint (topcoat) to make the wood's design and veins brighter.
