Living in the captivating Windy City is a humbling experience that fills me with gratitude every day. Residing by the peaceful shores of Lake Michigan is an extraordinary privilege. As the sun rises over the horizon, I witness a breathtaking play of light and shadows where the cityscape reflects on the tranquil waters below. The vibrant urban life interweaves seamlessly with the gentle rhythm of the lake's waves, creating an unparalleled symphony of sights and sounds. This harmonious convergence of nature and civilization reminds me of the boundless beauty and wonder that life offers. Chicago, with its lively heartbeat and soul-stirring waters, has become not only a place to live but also a cherished sanctuary where dreams are nurtured, and I find eternal gratitude. #GratefulHeart #LakefrontLiving #ChicagoVibes 🌇🌊

The church of N. S. of Joy, is located in the Medieval Burgo (Castle) and was there built in the century. XVII. The set consists of two volumes: nave and chancel (baroque style) with sacristy, which is next door. The whole set is paved with brick, stone masonry materials lime plastered and whitewashed from the outside and lined with polychrome tiles inside the nave and chancel. The church is covered by a Portuguese Moorish tile.
The main door, flanked by two windows facing north, is large and its frame is built of fine granite stone, in the same pristine condition. At the top of the door is a niche with the image of N. S. da Alegria in porcelain. This one is covered of polychrome tile, with the same width of the main door, forming with her a harmonious set. This ends with a cross of the same material at the top.

Architecturally, the building is remarkable both for its harmonious proportions, linked to the unity of its design, and for the quality of its tympanums, sculptures and stained glass windows. It differs in particular from the other great cathedrals of the time by a completely new search for a unified interior space. Exceptional case in France for a Gothic cathedral, it does not have a transept.
The Saint-Étienne de Bourges cathedral is a Gothic cathedral built between the end of the 12th and the end of the 13th century.
The cathedral marks its originality by the size of the western facade with its five portals. They are consecrated, in order and from left to right, to: Guillaume de Bourges, the Virgin Mary, the Last Judgment (central portal), to the martyr Étienne and to Ursin de Bourges. The lack of a transept probably led to a relatively simple design of the side portals.
The monastery of Santo Estevo de Ribas de Sil is one of the most outstanding and spectacular collections of the rich monumental heritage of Galicia. It was built between the 12th and 18th centuries. The cloister of the bishops, which with the church is the oldest preserved in the monastery. It is so called, because in it the nine bishops who retired to this monastery were buried until their bodies were transferred to the church. The set formed by diverse architectural styles, form a homogeneous and harmonious whole. It has two bodies: the lower Romanesque style and the upper one a transition from Gothic to Renaissance.

I have several takes of this same composition during a range of a few minutes, but I prefer this one with people showing in. The human presence may convey the feeling of an harmonious relationship with Nature. After all, we belong here, don't we? Besides, people may be seen as a nice watermark, more interesting and less intrusive than a graphical one.
The Langlois Bridge at Arles is the subject of four oil paintings, one watercolor and four drawings by Vincent van Gogh. The works, made in 1888 when Van Gogh lived in Arles, in southern France, represent a melding of formal and creative aspects. Van Gogh leverages a perspective frame that he built and used in The Hague to create precise lines and angles when portraying perspective.
Van Gogh was 35 when he made the Langlois Bridge paintings and drawings. Living in Arles, in southern France, he was at the height of his career, producing some of his best work: sunflowers, fields, farmhouses and people of the Arles, Nîmes and Avignon areas. It was a prolific time for Van Gogh: in less than 15 months he made about 100 drawings, produced more than 200 paintings and wrote more than 200 letters.
The canals, drawbridges, windmills, thatched cottages and expansive fields of the Arles countryside reminded Van Gogh of his life in the Netherlands. Arles brought him the solace and bright sun that he sought for himself and conditions to explore painting with more vivid colors, intense color contrasts and varied brushstrokes. He also returned to the roots of his artistic training from the Netherlands, most notably with the use of a reed pen for his drawings.
Van Gogh was influenced by Japanese woodcut prints, as evidenced by his simplified use of color to create a harmonious and unified image. Contrasting colors, such as blue and yellow, were used to bring a vibrancy to the works. He painted with an impasto, or thickly applied paint, using color to depict the reflection of light. The subject matter, a drawbridge on a canal, reminded him of his homeland in the Netherlands. He asked his brother Theo to frame and send one of the paintings to an art dealer in the Netherlands. The reconstructed Langlois Bridge is now named Pont Van-Gogh.
Branchage literally means 'branches'.
The branchage refers to the law which ensures that any vegetation growth that overhangs roads and footpaths is cut back. This includes hedges, branches, trees, shrubs, grass and flowers etc.
Shifa
By Clayton Blake (Qld)
‘Shifa’ symbolises a harmonious future, advocating for a two-state solution. Beyond aesthetics, it invites contemplation and dialogue. The art work’s immersive design allows visitors to experience its ethereal presence, with translucent discs casting vibrant, shifting shadows that represent the complexities of coexistence. Each disc embodies a facet of identity, culture and history, reflecting the delicate balance necessary for peace. While a beacon of hope, ‘Shifa’ also mourns the destruction of Al Shifa Hospital, acknowledging pain and loss. The piece highlights the power of art to inspire change, embrace diversity, and foster a shared vision for a compassionate future.

Jvari Monastery is a sixth-century Georgian Orthodox monastery near Mtskheta, eastern Georgia. Along with other historic structures of Mtskheta, it is listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Jvari is a rare case of the Early Medieval Georgian church that survived to the present day almost unchanged. Built atop of Jvari Mount (656 m a.s.l.), the monastery is an example of harmonious connection with the natural environment, characteristic to Georgian architecture.

I am beginning to love, love love my Nikon D500. This camera has rave reviews so my expectations were high when I finally got it into my hot little lands. My first week with it was a disaster. All my images were soft and blurry. Of course my initial reaction was that I had a bad copy of the camera. While it happens, it is rarely the case. It usually comes down to technique. I had never used my "Big lens" (Tamron 150-600) on a crop sensor. It performs differently compared with my Full Frame and after some research, I realised that I did not have the shutter speed anywhere near fast enough to compensate for the greater focal distance I was getting with the crop sensor, particularly as I have been hand holding alot and trying birds in flight shots. I was also shooting under terrible conditions. Some changes to my technique and settings, now fully manual and auto ISO, I am starting to get alot more keepers.
I need alot more practice to work out which of the awesome AF settings work best for different scenarios but it is lots of fun trying.
joyous noise let us rejoice
in one wonderful harmonious voice
join together the great choir in Heaven
smile and love as they sing unleavened
a sigh, a tear, a grin let us win!
not tomorrow or yesterday but today
let us say
stand tall and if you fall
know that God has us all
His choirs are all on key
as they sing to you and me
love is all around
love is the great abound
fill your cup to the top
and know that you will never flop
you will always win
get up if you must and do it all again
sing and know that you were made for delight
your home is in heaven
wow wow wow wow
stay in the now.
peace to all

This striking image captures the essence of autumn's majestic beauty against a serene azure sky. The photograph showcases a diverse array of trees, each contributing its unique character to the seasonal tapestry.
Dominating the frame are deciduous trees ablaze with golden foliage, their leaves seemingly aflame in the soft light. These gilded branches reach upward, creating a warm contrast against the cool blue backdrop of the sky.
Interspersed among the golden boughs are evergreen pines, their deep green needles a reminder of nature's constancy amidst change. The pines add depth and texture to the scene, their sturdy silhouettes complementing the more delicate deciduous leaves.
A hint of vibrant red foliage peeks out from the lower right corner, adding a pop of intense color and hinting at the full spectrum of autumn's palette.
The composition draws the eye upward, mirroring the natural growth of the trees and creating a sense of ascension. This upward movement is balanced by the expansive sky, which provides a sense of openness and tranquility.
The image encapsulates the transient beauty of fall, inviting the viewer to pause and appreciate the harmonious interplay of colors and forms that mark this fleeting season. It's a visual ode to autumn's ability to transform the landscape into a breathtaking natural canvas.

It was an amazing night when the shadowed moon harmoniously shared the sky with the stars... It was clearly visible the moon and the stars. However, the constellation of the Oreon, which afraid the flaming Moon, is already trying to escape from the moon ;-) See on the right hand side.

This enchanting photograph captures the harmonious blend of seasons, where summer's last breath meets autumn's golden embrace. A single vibrant pink lotus flower takes center stage, its delicate petals unfurled in full bloom, creating a striking focal point amidst a sea of lily pads.
The still water surface acts as a mirror, perfectly reflecting the warmth of fall foliage above. Shimmering hues of gold, orange, and green dance across the pond, painting a impressionistic canvas of autumn's splendor. The contrast between the cool blue depths of the water and the warm tones of the reflected foliage adds depth and dimension to the scene.
Scattered lily pads in various shades of green and pink dot the water's surface, their circular forms providing a gentle rhythm to the composition. The lotus flower's reflection creates a mesmerizing symmetry, bridging the world above and below the water line.
This image invites the viewer to pause and reflect on the transient beauty of nature, where each season's end heralds the beginning of another's glory. It's a serene moment frozen in time, showcasing the profound beauty found in the cyclical changes of the natural world.

Solarpunk is a subgenre of speculative fiction that imagines a future where humans coexist harmoniously with nature and technology, integrating them seamlessly into the environment. However, the small mountain town featured in the Solar Punk Series paints a slightly different picture, portraying a sleepy locale largely untouched by historical change, with the exception of the thriving and abundant wildlife that now permeates the surroundings.
