The Common Blackbird (Turdus merula) is a species of true thrush. It is also called Eurasian Blackbird (especially in North America, to distinguish it from the unrelated New World blackbirds),[2] or simply Blackbird, where this does not lead to confusion with a similar-looking local species. It breeds in Europe, Asia, and North Africa, and has been introduced to Australia (where it is considered a pest) and New Zealand. It has a number of subspecies across its large range; a few of the Asian subspecies are sometimes considered to be full species. Depending on latitude, the Common Blackbird may be resident, partially migratory or fully migratory.

The male of the nominate subspecies, which is found throughout most of Europe, is all black except for a yellow eye-ring and bill and has a rich melodious song; the adult female and juvenile have mainly dark brown plumage. This species breeds in woods and gardens, building a neat, mud-lined, cup-shaped nest. It is omnivorous, eating a wide range of insects, earthworms, berries, and fruits.

Both sexes are territorial on the breeding grounds, with distinctive threat displays, but are more gregarious during migration and in wintering areas. Pairs will stay in their territory throughout the year where the climate is sufficiently temperate. This common and conspicuous species has given rise to a number of literary and cultural references, frequently related to its song.

Businesses and Letter Carriers Joined the Fight Against Hunger in May

Annual Feeding Hope and Letter Carriers’ Food and Fund Drive Raised More Than

1.2 Million Meals for Hungry Oklahomans

(OKLAHOMA CITY) – June 26, 2018 – During the month of May, 745,122 pounds of food and $153,776 were raised for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma through the annual Feeding Hope and Letter Carriers’ Food and Fund Drive.

“The donations raised through this annual drive will provide more than 1.2 million meals for chronically hungry children, seniors on fixed incomes and hardworking families across central and western Oklahoma,” said Katie Fitzgerald, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. “This drive is successful because of continued support from the community, sponsors, businesses, volunteers and letter carriers. Thank you for joining us in our mission of ‘Fighting Hunger…Feeding Hope.’”

More than 100 metro-area businesses held food and fund drives during the month of May to fight hunger. Additionally, on May 12 letter carriers in 194 central and western cities collected food donations from mail boxes to benefit the Regional Food Bank.

Who are we? How do we identify ourselves? There is never a definite answer for that. Maybe the best answer

we could come up with might not do justice to what we actually are. But these questions have ever more relavance

during these testing time.

This is a photo series of people I met and photographed over the years. I do not remember most of their names

but the situations they were photographed have been embedded in my memory. They are people I met randomly and who

identified themselves through their expressions, not just facial but also the situations they were in while being

photographed.

With people wearing masks that cover up a good portion of their face due to the onset of COVID19, it is going to be

more difficult to capture a person's expression in future. Hence this series is even more special for me because I would

not be able to do this for very long time.

The way of life is changing, so are the expressions of identity.
