Today is the first day of the Chinese Lunar New Year and it is the year of the Metal Ox. The celebrations last for 15 days roughly from new moon to full moon.
The metal element represents anything sparkly from jewelry to the needle of a syringe. So we can see a bigger emphasis on industries related to metal in 2021.
"The ox, in Chinese culture, is a hardworking zodiac sign. It usually signifies movements so, hopefully, the world will be less static than last year and get moving again in the second half of the year."

It's rare that we get a chance to see Bluebirds in our neck of the woods so when friends told us about a nesting pair in their back yard, it was worth a visit even from a non-birder like me. The new Mom and Dad were indeed constantly back and forth to the nesting box with mouthfuls of worms and insects. It must have been tiring work as one or the other would periodically take a break - as Dad seemed to do here. I was exhausted just watching them.
We were careful in keeping our distance too - not wanting to disrupt the feeding process of the little ones.
So this hand belongs to my beautiful wife, who, like the many around the world, remain to be the hub of the family.
Here, she manages to capture a minute's worth of practice, playing her music, before attending to the many wonderful things she does for myself and the children...

Bardzo pracowity dzięciołek. Coś wydłubywał z tej gałęzi (albo rzeźbił) bo to trwało chyba ok. 1/2 godziny jego krzątanie. Ja poszedłem w pola a jak wracałem to on dalej pracował. /
Very busy Woodpecker. Something he was picking up from this branch (or carves) because it probably took about half an hour of his working. I went on the fields and as I returned he continued to work.
Today is my father's birthday...but..he's been gone for a while. It doen't mean I don't miss him any less then I did so long ago...probably even more. He was an amazing man... hardworking..intelligent..funny...caring...loving.. giving.. maybe he sounds too perfect... trust me..he had his faults.. but for all of them.. he was an honest man. He is missed dearly. And without him.. there would be no me ;) Not sure if that's a good or bad thing.. LOL!! He's always been my angel...and Libra his zodiac. So this photo is my tribute to him. Happy Birthday Dad!! ❤️
