Different angle, but still my macmini 1.5 Ghz Intel Core Solo on top. Iomega 250 GB external harddisk in the middle and LaCie cd/dvd writer on the bottom.
Fought with my computer a bit recently. Pretty sure either a disk or a controller are failing but not yet consistently dead. I did pick up a new disk and do some reorganizing. Good chance to test my backup and recovery processes as well. No data were harmed in the making of this photo.
Hard disk mania! I had to replace the motherboard and I ended up with this open workstation...working again!
Last night my computer shut itself down due to overheating. This happens a few times every day during hot days so I thought I should spread out the layout of my tree harddisks that get hot like toasters. But when I was done and turned on the computer again it refused to start at all. After 24h testing, working, asking, consulting, trying and begging it finally looks like I've got it running again. I probably had got the SD-RAM out of position when re-ordering the HDDs.
Now I'm back online again, and did at least go a bunch of macro shots of my computer.
I took this over 2 years ago but i have to tidy up my harddisk and i wanted to save this one from the bin. I like how the horse stands straight but the head is turned, this i quite seldom with horses, especially icelandic ones as they are so friendly and courious. I also like the open mouth, you can see the grass trough it, like it would be talking to someone on the other side. This is a picture i could tell a story about, and that is what i enjoy a lot about fotography.

Le istruzioni per far funzionare quell'infame di Hard Disk portandolo alla tecnologia SATA 1 anzichè la 2 (nativa per sua costruzione).
I've been building new PCs - the most major overhaul I've done in years, if not ever, of our setup here. This hard drive is finally retiring from service after about 7½ years. Can't believe it's still working - ExcelStor aren't exactly a big-name brand, and for the past several years this has been the system drive in a 24/7-running machine hosting a web server, all our media files, and all sorts. Impressive.
