I wish my Flickr friends a very happy Thanksgiving! For those of you around the world not celebrating this US holiday, I hope your day is filled with peace and happiness!
When i looked as this picture again, i found out that the flowers and colors itself are so interesting and they seems very happy, like dancing in the air.

Mmm, I don't think I'm gonna tell you anything about that.
Photoshop
This pure photoshop work consists of over 20 layers, telling you all about this would take too much time, so here a few tricks :
1) Indicate the centre of the image by using guides :
° Press Ctrl-R to get the rulers showing.
° Click and drag from the rulers area, you'll see a cyan coloured guide, drag it
to the centre, there it should snap into place, release the button to drop it there.
Do this for both horizontal and vertical to see where the centre is.
° You can show/hide these guides using Ctrl/H
2) To get those rays of light shooting out from the centre :
° Create a new layer.
° Take the brush tool and the white color, take a brush tool of an appropriate size.
° Hold one finger on the shift button.
° Click in the centre of the image and hold down, the sprayed down brush should grow.
° Release and move to the edge of the image again, hold down the shift now and give
a short click.
A line should be drawn decreasing from the bigger size you've layed down in the centre to the small size at the edge.
Repeat this in a few random directions.
° After this you can perhaps apply a gaussian blur on the rays and play around with the blending mode of the layer.
3) To get extra light around the heart :
° Make a duplicate of the heart layer and fill the heart with white.
° Perform a big 'radial blur with zoom' on it.
° I used the blending mode 'Lighten' and dropped the opacity to 60%.

This photo was taken by my grandfather, Hilbert Johnson while he was in the Navy between the years of 1940 to 1945. Since my husband was in the Navy as well, my mother had given me most of my grandfather's memorabilia from when he was in the Navy. My grandfather also took on photography as a hobby while he was in the service and took some amazing shots. Here is one of my favorites, I also have blown this one up and have hanging on my wall at home. He truly had a talent. :) I hope you all enjoy this little treasure from history as much as I have. Happy Veterans Day to all who have served and/or are currently serving. Thank you! :)

I am enjoying the flowers in my garden as summer drifts by so quickly. This is a daylily called Happy Returns according to my flower stick from the nursery. When I looked it up, the flower looks like a spider lily. Anyway, I am happy for its return to my garden to bring joy and happiness to my day.

Never thought it would be such a success 15 of us made it in, despite security been all over the place like a rash, after a few close calls, we all met up in the grand hall of the asylum, for a couple of beers , music and loolz for Mad Hatter's Tea Party.
Happy New Year to all of you , here's hoping that the first page to the last of your 2014 is filled with epic passages that can be recounted at the end of the year like a best selling novel.
