I write a lot but rarely do I handwrite for pleasure. I love getting letters because I like other people's handwritting. There's something special about holding a letter that someone took the time to sit down and compose to you. It's like a little personal song.
I went with my child-like, highly stylized design for my final mug piece. In my sketch, I had intended on using black for outlines, a white background, and only two bright colors, but for my final I went with all lively colors to better match the style of the imagery and to exaggerate the colors of Northern Wisconsin. I also chose to incorporate many different aspects of Northern Wisconsin, including activities, nature, wildlife, and the road and car that so many of us experience these sites while on/sitting in. I handwrite "Northern Wisconsin" and included it on the bottom of the mug instead of the side so that the imagery could take precedent and (hopefully) speak for itself. The road is continued onto the bottom of the piece and the inside to connect it all together.
My heavy usage of black, white and trans-orange naturally made me highly drawn to the Purifier faction. While the Purifier variant of the Immortal has distinctively shorter barrels and the head shape (both of which were represented here), the highlight of this model is actually the lower limbs.
The four lower limbs of an Immortal do not make a perpendicular X shape; they are slanted laterally, not unlike the way we handwrite the letter capitalised letter X. I was very convinced that the limbs had to rotate horizontally. There were very few round plates in Lego, and fortunately the ones I knew and had access to got the job done.
This is one of harder feats I have achieved, and definitely one of the more expensive models to build.
SIGNED RARE "It's About Time" cd 2006 by the Jonas Brothers. This one is a great addition to my collection! As you can see by the FBI print it is 100% real! The autographs seem real too: the pen's colour is a little fuzzy, the boys's handwrites seem real, and if you see carefully you can notice a little pen mark over Joe's head. :)

Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to alter the manufacturer's labels on the specific large pink tubes to say prominently "do not stick label, handwrite on this instead".

A birthday cake for one of our pastors as well as the leader of our Bible Study group. We had about 160 at his "surprise party". My edible ink ran out while trying to align printer, so had to handwrite all the labels. A yellow cake with SMBC filling. As you can see he is big into tie-dye. Wish I had more shots of every angle of the cake.

i really like biros (ball point pens).
this here is the red papermate 'profile', but the best medium budget biro i've ever used is the papermate 'inkjoy'.
(papermate 'kilometrico' is nasty by comparison.)
i used to enjoy typical high quality biro refills like parker, lamy, sheaffer, cross, and mont blanc, but had a bad batch of mont blancs some years back and was turned off by it.
then due to other circumstances, was not able to handwrite for some years anyway.
and now i have discovered nibs and ink - the wet stuff - and also these papermates - in so many colours - and haven't needed the refills (yet).
cursive writing is art for everyone - it's a little bit of art that everyone can do every day, and enjoy!
