1. I hate having my picture taken and I only look normal and not awkward in them when I don’t know someone has snapped one. The above photo fits into this category.
2. My mother was a photographer and used me and my siblings as her subjects at an awkward age. Ever since I always pull a defensive face when a camera is on me. It’s taken me ages to enjoy photography. I don’t think of myself as someone who’s very good at it.
3. I am a writer and have been one since I could talk and knew what stories were.
4. I am writing a trilogy. I am halfway through an intense rewrite of the first book and aim to have it finished by the end of the year.
5. I love collecting things and I always seem to float into strange subcultures. I am also involved with alternative press stuff/zines and I have about ten years worth of a zine collection vying for space with everything else that’s crammed in my room.
6. I spent a long time being very far from girly, but I think it’s because I was wrestling with a lot of things about what it meant to be queer and I was all about rejecting gender stereotypes. But truth is I’m pretty girly and always have been. So Blythe really gave something back to me that was important.
7. I think childlike innocence and a sense of play is one of the most important things — having a sense of wonder at the world. Lying in the grass and staring at clouds and the treetops. People watching. Looking for strange things and interesting buildings. Playing with dolls. And writing. It’s why I write and it’s what keeps me sane.
8. I love writing in cafes.
9. I am both a tea drinker and a coffee drinker —tea at home and soy lattes in cafes. If I don’t have caffeine I get headaches.
10. I don’t drink, smoke or go out very much. I never have. I prefer to spend time with a couple of people and stay in. But then I stay up late faffing about reading and such.
11. I suffer from chronic pain in my neck, shoulders, arms and hands. It means I can’t handwrite (less than a page at a time or owies) or work full-time. It’s been hard but I just see it as a part of my identity.

13. I am very messy. I like to think it means I’m creative.
14. I love both Autumn and Spring. One of my favourite things is to sit outside in the park on a nice day (not too hot) and write stories in my head.
15. I am training to be a teacher. It’s not exactly what I want, but it’s the closest I’m going to get to that for now.
16. My ultimate dream is to write books – Young Adult Fiction, Queer fiction, literary fiction, Children’s fiction – and teach creative writing. I could do writing stuff all day every day.
17. My friends are so important to me. They have been so supportive through all of my difficult times.

19. I love Melbourne so much and could never ever move. I am not what you’d call patriotic. I am pretty far left and it’s not legal for me to marry in this country. But when I went overseas I was oddly homesick. It was the light, the stark Australian light. I love my city passionately. I love the inner-north where I live. I love the sprawl of Eastern Suburbia where I grew up. I love all its prettiness and all its ugliness. It makes me want to write and recreate it in new incarnations over and over.
20. That said, I would really like to go to the UK in the next few years and get my Masters. Some of my favourite writers teach over there.

The autographs seem real too: the pen's colour is a little fuzzy, the boys's handwrites seem real, and if you see carefully you can notice a little pen mark over Joe's head. :)

I'm very sorry that this is so horribly rough, I have a ton of hand lettering/printing/sewing to do and haven't had time yet, but at least wanted to upload my concept.
I will handwrite different empowering quotes on feminism, scan them into the computer, print them on different french paper, tear them and sew them together with pink thread. The finished poster will actually be the mixed media creation, not just a photo of it.
I will upload another version as soon as i get it put together!
A birthday cake for one of our pastors as well as the leader of our Bible Study group. We had about 160 at his "surprise party". My edible ink ran out while trying to align printer, so had to handwrite all the labels. A yellow cake with SMBC filling. As you can see he is big into tie-dye. Wish I had more shots of every angle of the cake.

What have I learnt from doing five LOAD (LayOut A Day) challenges:
I can scrapbook regularly. I can scrapbook when I don't think I have much time which just proves that I have the time to do other things regularly too, like exercise.
I love the LOAD community. Love commenting and getting inspired. Love receiving comments and chatting with my virtual friends. Love getting to know my new friends through their layouts.
LOAD really works for me, I have taken many online classes and don't always finish the assignments. But something about LOAD just clicks for me. I could take the time to finish up these assignments from old classes but I just do my own thing.
Each time I do this I learn how much excess stuff I have, what I really like to use and what I don't.
I love to play and I love all the pretty product. But if I really had to I could live with cardstock, adhesive, pen and photos because that is what scrapbooking really is photos + words.
I prefer to scrapbook at night. I'm a procrastinator. I am home all day, but I like to wait until after the girls are in bed to do my layout.
I don't care about grammar mistakes, that's me. I ramble and start sentences with but or and. I also like to just keep putting commas in and having one huge sentence.
I love to tell stories and capture our family's memories. I need to start tell all the other areas of our lives also. Not just the events, the silly times, the happy moments. I can add a few tougher times, this will help the girls realize what their childhood was like, what I did and felt and so many other things.
I like to tell stories, not just add a caption. I like to handwrite I find it quicker than using the computer. But it doesn't really work with my long winded stories plus it gets harder to read.
If I only scrap three months a year during LOAD it's still enough to fill my albums.
I look forward to LOAD but a part of me is hesitant. About half way through I wonder if I'm done yet and that I can't possibly come up with one more layout, never mind two weeks worth. But somehow I finish all my days. Then in the end I miss it when it's over.

This cake suppose to be an ice cream container, in any case that is the idea. Oh well, my sister loved the cake very much especially since it was a red velvet cake with cream cheese filling (her fave) and looking like a container of ice cream (her fave too). I was in such a hurry to do this cake, that I had to handwrite items I wanted to print on sugarpaper with my computer (using edible ink). Cake made a vanishing act at her BBQ party. TFL
