I prefer if Hackerspace is a Zen minimalist temple. I.e. nothing except tables and chairs. I'm not even a fan of books.
However I realise I'm special and some people might be comforted with an oversized toy car and junk cluttering the place.

A Hackerspace or Makerspace oftentimes act as a co-op community workshop that operates so that members could have access to devices and workforce to finish their own personal project which would have been difficult by themselves because of either absence of tools, workforce, or know-how.
