The Ha'penny Bridge (Irish: Droichead na Leathphingine, or Droichead na Life), known later for a time as the Penny Ha'penny Bridge, and officially the Liffey Bridge, is a pedestrian bridge built in 1816 over the River Liffey in Dublin, Ireland. Made of cast-iron, the bridge was cast at Coalbrookdale in Shropshire.

Originally called the Wellington Bridge (after the Duke of Wellington), the name of the bridge changed to Liffey Bridge. The Liffey Bridge (Irish: Droichead na Life) remains the bridge's official name to this day - though it is still commonly known as the Ha'penny Bridge. Before the Ha'penny Bridge was built there were seven ferries, operated by a William Walsh, across the Liffey.[3] The ferries were in a bad condition and Walsh was informed that he had to either fix them or build a bridge. Walsh chose the latter option and was granted the right to extract a ha'penny toll from anyone crossing it for 100 years.

I'm trying to get to grips with film, having only used digital since I got seriously interested in photography. This shot was taken using a Nikon F5 camera on a roll of Ilford XP5 Plus 400 ISO 35mm film . It was shot handheld. Its a well photographed landmark in Dublin and it used to be a tollbridge.

Cave at an Island near Ha Long Bay

We took a day-long tour around Cat Ba Island/Ha Long Bay. This place is ridiculously photogenic. Let me assure my friends, yes, this is still Earth, and yes, it is real. Somehow.

Along the way the guides took us to one of the floating home/floating fish farms. They live in little shacks on the water and keep fish in nets lowered in the water. The guides said there's over 2000 people living this way in the area. Other than being on the water, it looks like any other low-wage village around here, complete with dogs corner stores, etc.

Oh, and it turns out this is the time of year to come! Weather was great and the place was not busy. We had the entire boat to ourselves!
