We took a day-long tour around Cat Ba Island/Ha Long Bay. This place is ridiculously photogenic. Let me assure my friends, yes, this is still Earth, and yes, it is real. Somehow.
Along the way the guides took us to one of the floating home/floating fish farms. They live in little shacks on the water and keep fish in nets lowered in the water. The guides said there's over 2000 people living this way in the area. Other than being on the water, it looks like any other low-wage village around here, complete with dogs corner stores, etc.
Oh, and it turns out this is the time of year to come! Weather was great and the place was not busy. We had the entire boat to ourselves!
No visit to Vietnam is complete without witnessing the natural spectacle of Ha Long Bay, with its countless islands rising dramatically from the sea. a boat trip through these towering rocky sentinels is an unforgettable experience!
Sadly we weren't blessed with the best of weather, it staying fairly dull and overcast for most of our trip, but the sight of the awe-inspiring natural rock formations surrounding us were more than enough compensation for the subdued light.

Sự kỳ vĩ, quyến rũ của cao nguyên đá Đồng Văn không chỉ ở những vách đá thẳng đứng cao 700-800 m, những vỉa đá vôi dày 4000m mà còn ở sức sống, sức sáng tạo của con người với những ruộng đá, vườn đá, những ngôi nhà đá, nơi sự sống ngày ngày được ươm mầm, sinh sôi và phát triển giữa những khắc nghiệt, "cộc cằn" của thiên nhiên đá. I prefer this livery to the current one, but I wonder how many people would have guessed that Wizz Air would be as big at Luton as they are now when this photo was taken in 2005?
El presidente de la Junta, Juanma Moreno, le ha pedido este jueves al presidente del Gobierno, Pedro Sánchez, la activación de una mesa bilateral entre ambas administraciones, recogida en el Estatuto de Autonomía, para abordar cuestiones que son de interés para la comunidad andaluza como la financiación autonómica y el reparto de los fondos europeos. De esta forma, ha apelado al diálogo permanente entre las administraciones para tratar todas las decisiones de los próximos meses y de los próximos años porque, según ha dicho, "de ello dependen las próximas décadas”.
Moreno ha señalado que es ahora donde de verdad encaja el concepto de cogobernanza, porque una parte importante de los fondos los va a gestionar directamente el Gobierno de España y no tendría sentido que no lo hiciera de la mano de los gobiernos autonómicos.
Durante su intervención ante los medios de comunicación, ha desgranado algunas de las cuestiones que se han abordado en la reunión que ha mantenido con Pedro Sánchez en el Palacio de la Moncloa entre las que se encuentra los fondos europeos. En este sentido, le ha trasmitido que Andalucía debería recibir de los fondos Next Generation, al menos, 4.380 millones de euros, a la vez que ha defendido que este reparto sea justo, que se haga en base al criterio de población y que esta comunidad reciba el 18% correspondiente a su peso frente a otras comunidades autónomas.
"Los fondos europeos son una enorme oportunidad para evitar la brecha histórica entre algunas comunidades autónomas. Si estos fondos se aplican de manera adecuada, equitativa, responsable y vinculados a los sectores productivos y a los que son palanca de cambio y transformación, podremos reducir esa brecha", ha apostillado.
