Thanks to Creations for Charity the hallowed story of the Gypsy Queen squadron has another chapter...
What's the story you ask? It all started years ago when Stijn built the MATSF-5000E Superbanshee II SE which was gifted to none other than Keith, who in turn honoured Stijn's gift with an epic build - the Gypsy Queen, You are cleared for Launch.
Which, was in turn homaged by yours truly with Operation Oscar as my launch pad to try to bribe voters at every convention with my FrogPODs (it didn't work).
So I finally got to not only meet Mr. Goldman and partake in one of his epic layouts, he but gifted me one of the Gyspy Queens.
The last, would be donated to C4C - where it would be up for grabs by anyone.
... but what fun would that be? Plus it'd be a horrible way to end the story of the Gypsy Queens....
Instead, I seized the oppurtunity to dictate where the last Gyspy Queen would land...
So now I have two.
I don't really need two.
I just need one.
So where will the last one go?
Someone will get a nice Xmas present.

Why not make some kid's christmas better too? There are plenty of awesome mocs in Creations for Charity store, so why not make your holidays, and some kid's holiday that much brighter?
Douglas Dakota ZK-JGB "The Jean Batten Clipper" of Airscapade Affairs Ltd, with New Zealand's Fiordland scenery as a backdrop, and tied down for security against the wind. She was built in 1942 and is here photographed at Te Anau Airport at Manapouri.
Jean Gardner Batten was a New Zealand aviatrix who became famous in the 1930s for a number of record-breaking solo flights across the world. In 1934, she knocked 4 days off Amy Johnson's solo flying time from England to Australia in a Gyspy Moth. In 1936 she made the first ever solo flight from England to New Zealand in a Percival Gull Six. At her birthplace of Rotorua, she was honoured by local Māori, who presented her with a chief's feather cloak, and gave her the title Hine-o-te-Rangi – "Daughter of the Skies". Her image is on the fin of the Dakota.

BOX DATE: 1995 (I believe)
MANUFACTURER: Kid Kore
DOLLS IN PACK: Rosa Lee, Jazzlyn
BODY TYPE: 1990; twist 'n turn waist; bent arms; bend & snap legs
HEAD MOLD: 1994; pierced ears
PERSONAL FUN FACT: What a find! This Jazzlyn was included in a lot with her sister, Rosa Lee. I was perusing new eBay listings for Kid Kore dolls, in June of 2023. I honestly wasn't in search of stuff to buy, but rather for photos of boxed dolls. I'm constantly researching our childhood Kid Kore dolls, hoping to find out more about them. Anyways, I noted that a seller had SUPER cheap stuff. I browsed their other listings, and snagged Jazzlyn/Rosa Lee, another lot with Dancing Brook and Stagecoach Annie, and Princess Magic Touch. We got all the dollies for under $10 (that included tax and shipping!). I could tell that Miss Jazzlyn had not been played with much in her past life. Her little kerchief was still tabbed down, and her hair was not frizzy. Kid Kore dolls have super cheap nylon tresses that always frizz when you brush them. I adore this doll's gorgeous facial screening and jet black hair. Even though she shares Kelsey's sculpts, she looks starkly unique from the other Kid Kore dolls in my collection. I had no idea that the Gypsy Caravan Heartland Series even existed, until I discovered them online as an adult collector. Boy oh boy, my sister and I would have been CRAZY for these dolls if we knew about them as kids. "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" was one of my favorite movies back then, and Esmeralda was one of my most cherished dolls. If I had Jazzlyn as a kid, I would have made her Esmeralda's sister or mother. I'm sure Colleen and I would have concocted all sorts of fun scenarios with these dolls!

When I was a little girl I wanted to be a part of a traveling circus. Not really to perform, but I wanted to be with the animals and travel all over the world. I of course never got to do that, but now I can sort of live it out in my art.
Hi ladies and welcome to your fifth elimination. This week you had to work with shadows and angles. It is crusal for a model to know her best angles. As you know 2 of you will be going home. You know us judges:
Danielle Monroe, model and winner of last cycle
And me, Ana Alvares.
Kyle
Danielle: FINALLY! I’m seeing the model that I knew was in there coming out. The lighter brows look great on you and make you look much more high fashion. I also love that I’m seeing so much more intensity in your eyes and face. My one critique would be that your right arm looks a little bit awkward but other than that, great job!
Ana: I am blown away Kyle! I knew you had it in you. I love the set, I love the shadow you worked with, I LOVE the eyebrows and your eyes finally comes to justice. I am very proud of you this week, keep it up!
Kayla
Danielle: Honestly, this shot is a little safe for me. You look pretty and that’s really it. I think the side glance works to add intensity to your eyes but I’m really not a fan of the edited harsh purple iris. I think if there was more shape or pattern to your shadows it could have brought up the overall look of the photo.
Ana: Last week you suprised all of u sto be honest. This week you fell short. It feels like you rely on your beauty on not doing much to make this photo stand out. The make-up doesn’t work for me, the eyecolor doesn’t fit you much and that makes your face look not as beautiful as it is in real life.
Aqua
Danielle: You look gorgeous in this shot Aqua and I definitely get a tribal feel from this photo. I really like your makeup and styling and it really adds to the whole tribal feel. I do wish your expression wasn’t so soft though. I feel like a harsher expression would have worked really well and put this photo over the top.
Ana: This is very beautiful Aqua. I am obsessed with the styling and the hair. I think this photo stand out of the rest because it has a whole other vibe to it which I really respond to. If I would give some feedback it would be that you look a bit too relaxed in the face, just a bit more intesity in your eyes would have been great.
Césaria
Danielle: Again you deliver a stellar shot. This is amazing, I love everything about it. The shadows, the outfit, the pose, the mysterious ambience; everything just works. I really have nothing bad to say, amazing job!
Ana: Now this is what I am talking about Cesaria! This is scary good! I love how you just bounce back from last week because this is amazing. Everything works, the shadow with the styling and the set. Keep it up and you will be dangerous in this competition.
Charlize
Danielle: This is gorgeous Charlize. I love how effortless and elegant you look and how you decided to go for a profile shot. Your dress is great and I really love how it also picks up the shadows. Great job!
Ana: I love how rebelic this photo is. The styling with the set is working great together. I love what you did with the shadows and the angle of your face is amazing. The only problem for me is that you don’t stand out much compered to the others but other than that, great job!
Kora
Danielle: This is flawless! I absolutely love it. The makeup and hair work perfectly with your face and the dress and it all contrasts so well with the setting. The pose just tops it all off. Amazing job Kora, keep it up!
Ana: I actually have to disagree. You are so much better than this. I think your body look a bit awkward and the angle of your face is not the most flattering. You can do so much better Kora, just look at last weeks photo.
Xuan
I really like the different approach you took; it makes your photo stand. Your face looks gorgeous and I really love your dress. I definitely love the shadows but I think you could have had more of them or at least tried to intensify them. I also think your left arm looks a little stiff but overall, I still really love the shot.
Ana: Finally Xuan, you are back! I think this is very beautiful. I am loving the styling and the make-up. Your face looks so good with the shadows. The photo has a gyspy vibe that I really like. Great job this week!
Liberty
Danielle: I love this Liberty; you really seem to be improving week by week. I love the intensity in your eyes and those eyebrows really take your look to the next level. The harsh shadows also work really well. I do have to critique the dress though as I think it would have looked much more chic if it were just the lace without the colorful material around your waist. Overall though, this is still a great shot
.
Ana: This could be on the cover of Vogue to be honest. This is amazing! You are really improving and stepping up week by week. Your face is to die for, the eyebrows are made by gold. I love how this photo has a bit of movement. I ahve to agree though with Danielle, the styling could have been better but other than that, amazing job!
Hazel
Danielle: I’m really torn about this shot Hazel. The thing I love is how chic and elegant you look and how your face and eyes just pierce through. The thing that brings the shot down for me is the eyebrows. I would have preferred if you just left them natural as they look a bit sloppy and bring down the overall impact of the shot.
Ana: This photo stands out by your egelance of your body. You have a Versace vibe to your styling and the face is glowing. My issue with you Hazel is that you haven’t had that wow moment yet. You need to start stand out more because right now you are a bit forgettible and a girl with your face is not someone you forget.
Cherish and Leilas overall perfomance will be scored but because this is the second time Leila hasn’t submitted a photo her score is sinking drasticly.

PERSONAL FUN FACT written by my sister: Rosa Lee is so beautiful! She still looks like Kid Kore Katie, my favorite fashion doll ever, but she has a more exotic beauty--Her dark hair, dark eyes, and red lips all look so beautiful together. And she has pierced ears! I told Shelly that I would have thought Kid Kore's Gypsy Caravan Heartland Series was even cooler than the dolls made for Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame because the line features a Stacie/Katie sized doll! I would have been even more excited circa 1995 to see these in stores if they'd been on shelves in my area than I was to see Mattel's merchandise for the Hunchback because Jazzlyn, who resembles Esmeralda, has this gorgeous little sister! Of course, it wasn't for a good six years after The Hunchback and these similar looking dolls were on shelves that I went CRAZY for Kid Kore Katie. Rosa Lee's obvious resemblance to my favorite girl is what REALLY puts her over the top. I think, had I seen Rosa Lee before my Katie craze, I'd have still wanted her, still thought she was beautiful, adorable, and precious, but wouldn't have gone as crazy as my 36 year-old self who'd been a die hard Katie fan for over 20 years would. I think these dolls are way cooler than the Hunchback because they have the actual Caravan playset and, more importantly, Rosa Lee. Shelly disagrees--she loves Jazzlyn but sees her as an Esmeralda wanna be. Shelly said she would have played with Jazzlyn as a kid. Jazzlyn could've been Esmeralda's mother or sister. She could've been a bad guy (like a mean mother who booted Esmeralda and Rosa Lee out of their home, thus why they wound up on the streets) or a good character, but not as important as Esmeralda. A secondary character at best. She wouldn't have been the doll that Shelly picked to be the beautiful girl who was living on the street who Kocuom fell in love with and invited into his home. (That was his story line with Esmeralda.) But Rosa Lee? Rosa Lee would've been my main character. She's just so beautiful! It's easy to picture her as Esmeralda's sweet little sister...
Anyway, One day in June 2023, Shelly was perusing Kid Kore dolls on eBay for research purposes, when she discovered a seller who had Rosa Lee and Jazzyln for $4.99 free shipping! That's like $2.50 each! Flea market prices! The same seller also had a Stagecoach Annie and Dancing Brook paired together for only $3 and a Princess Magic Touch for $1.25! With those prices, we just HAD to shop before going to the actual flea market! What a steal! Anyway, I'd wanted Rosa Lee ever since we researched the Heartland a little over a year earlier. (Did I say "researched Heartland dolls?" I should've said "purchased Heartland dolls.") When I started to really understand that the Gypsy Caravan Katie-sized doll, the western Heartland Katie-sized doll, and the Native American Katie-sized doll were all technically not Katie, but different characters, I was fascinated! Rosa Lee is gorgeous! I can't say it enough. She is one of the prettiest Katie-sized dolls in my collection!
