April 22, 2022 - 16th Century Masons' Guild Hall located at Sint-Niklaasstraat 2, 9000 Gent, Belgium. I am not sure when the modern glass addition was added to the building. "The Masons’ Guild House was built in a flamboyant Gothic style opposite the Sint- Niklaaskerk to show off the stone carving skills of the city’s masons. It eventually disappeared behind a later building. People thought it had been demolished and so in 1913 a replica was constructed at Graslei 8. The original was later found during building work and six modern dancing figures were added at the top." These guilded leaves are on the gates of the College of Arms in London. It was taken on a dreary Saturday afternoon, and the gold just seemed so bright against the dark background.
All Saints Pavement, York.
All Saints is the Guild Church of York. It has played, and continues to play, an important role in the civic history of the city.
The Guild of Scriveners.
In an age when most people could not read, the Scriveners were responsible for copying out and decorating books, and for writing letters and other documents.
The earliest reference to the Guild was in 1415. Some 70 years later, in 1487, the Company of textwriters, illuminators,annotators, writers of musical scores, translators and those who embellished writing with flowing curves came before the Lord Mayor to register ordinances and become incorporated as with other crafts.
The Guild was revived in 1991 and is now composed of accountants, lawyers and notaries. It has also reinstated the ceremony of the 'Assize of the Ale', formerly a procedure for checking the quality of ale sold in the city - though now all 'levies and bribes' go to charity. As with other guilds, charity is one of its prime endeavours.

This was a dollar store ceramic birdhouse. I thought the shape was pretty, and wanted to use up some of my small tesserae.
I used tiles, glass, wire, beads, porceline flowers, gold washed grout, beaded chain and copper pipe.
Just need to find a small bird to poke inside.
