Handwork, a needle pulling thread. I love to stitch by hand and have tried many techniques.

I was a cross stitcher before I became a quilter, so naturally, many of my first quilts were baby quilts that had cross stitched blocks in them. That's why Cross stitch is right there at the top of the list. Each of the techniques I've shown in this block, I have made into a quilted project at least once.

The Guild was a historic hotel in the Guildwood neighbourhood of Scarborough, Toronto, Ontario and was once an artists colony. The surrounding Guild Park and Gardens is notable for a sculpture garden consisting of the rescued facades and ruins of various demolished downtown Toronto buildings such as bank buildings, the old Toronto Star building and the Granite Club. The park is situated on the Scarborough Bluffs with views of Lake Ontario. Guild Park remained open and the refurbishment of the Guild Inn into a facility for social events was completed in May 2017.

Designers Guild is delighted to announce the launch of an extraordinarily special collection of fabrics, designed by one of Britain’s foremost artists, Howard Hodgkin. Renowned for his incredible use of colour, this concise new collection offers three designs in a striking colour palette of red, black, blue, green and white, combined together in organic shapes and patterns. In celebration of this new venture, Designers Guild will be unveiling the new collection at a special exhibition in their flagship store on the Kings Road during Focus 2011.

Also launching this autumn will be 12 further fabric and wallpaper collections, including the Amrapali group of fabrics and wallpapers and “Rosa Chinensis”, the fourth collection for the prestigious brand “The Royal Collection Fabrics and Wallpaper”, as well as the full range of bed and bath and home accessories.
