The Guild Hall and Charter Theatre complex in local, Lancashire has been sold to a Preston businessman, as the city council looked to save money.
Simon Rigby, who runs a catering and entertainment businesses, recently took over the venue. Already he has removed the trees that used to hide the front of the building.

Anyone from Scotland or even the rest of the UK might remember the awful fire that destroyed parts of Edinburgh's Old Town in 2002. This is what's left of the former venue the Guilded Balloon. They lost a precious collection of posters in the fire.

Stereopticon slide of the oblique front view of the Kelly House, which houses the Hilltop Guild, showing the front porch of the log structure that was once an early high country ranch. It is near the Bunce school, a historic site at Bunce School Road. The Kelly House is on Highway #7, #72, on the way to Allenspark, Colorado, south of Estes Park, Allenspark, Ferncliff and Rocky Mountain National Park. The Kelly House is the clubhouse used for the Guiltsters to assemble and work on their crafts. The one room log Bunce school house next door was built in 1888 to collect the children from among the high country communities around this area. It was built in a somewhat central location to collect what young minds it could. Perhaps some of the impetus of building here was that men logged the Ironclads above the two buildings. Both would have been convenient for those traveling the original wagon road from old Jamestown to Allenpark.
Please enjoy this stereo, description or even better, a vacation to the Guild Hall and Bunce School, the Stanleys' famous road, the two campgrounds along the Middle Fork of the famous South St.Vrain River Valley and the great high country trails west from Peaceful Valley. The Hilltop Guild and their restored the Bunce School are valuable pieces of history and worthy as destinations. They keep the School open on Wednesdays and Saturday throughout their summer schedule. Look for information on the Guild's activities and Bazaar.
I have a set of some photos of Bunce School and there are several interior shots of the refurb work done by the folks of the nearby Hilltop Guild.
