Originally commissioned by Littlefield as a Civil War monument for the University of Texas campus, Coppini convinced Littlefield to change the design to a “memorial to the University of Texas boys who died so that American democracy might spread all over the world, while honoring the leaders [he] most admire[d] as America’s great men.” Shortly after Littlefield’s death, UT regents and UT architect Paul Cret changed the design by separating most of the components.

The trail markers had to be large and substantial up here. The weather can undoubtedly get very nasty.
Our guide observed that Sambar are not half as alert or fleet-footed as Chital - and that this, along with their larger size makes them the preferred choice of venison on the tiger's menu. The incident with the distracted sambar stag indcated that he's probably right.
Jim, my guide from Eaton Outfitters. A retired biology teacher turned summer fishing guide, he was able to provide a lot of interesting facts about the area, especially identifying birds and other wildlife that we encountered. Great guy; provided a lot of fishing pointers and lots of friendly conversation.
During Out For Adventure's Guide Training its imperative that guides make copious notes of the material presented. Slide shows and white boards are all part of the module. Sea kayaking guides are an extremely hard working group that take their job very seriously.
Clients may be excused for thinking the job is so easy when they think of paddling all day and getting paid for it but these guys and girls have a lot of background work done well in advance.
This is one of my first major drawings that I've actually worked on. It is of some kind of imaginative lighthouse from a distant past. I had no plan for it - I just started drawing and let my imaginaaaation flow...
Tell me how you think of it. I think drawing lighthouses are fun to draw and I'll try to do some more.
Other than that i've GOT to take more pictures and it'll help to purchase a camera for myself.
So that's what i've been doing for a while and have taken no pictures. Hey, its still summer.
